Job Description

We are looking for a Carbon Capture Technology Expert to join our growing team of consultants, engineers and scientists working in the energy transition. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in current and emerging carbon capture technologies, including an intimate knowledge of their key operational principles and challenges.

They will also be comfortable in applying their technical understanding to a variety of project applications, from core technology development to strategy support.

To meet growing demand for our services in the energy transition space, we are now expanding our expert team across all technical capability areas, with an aim to strengthen PA as a centre of excellence for clean energy technology. We are looking for motivated and talented new colleagues to join us and help shape this journey.

Role specifics

Function Specific Activities:

Act as the go-to subject matter expert for carbon capture technologies, demonstrating strong familiarity with current and emerging technology types (e.g. membranes, calcium looping).

  • Apply technical knowledge and expertise to support clients with technology development and scale-up programmes.
  • Apply knowledge of key emerging CCUS value chains to provide clients with technical support to solve strategic challenges (e.g. developing technology strategy, market strategy).
  • Confidently communicate complex technical information and its commercial implications to senior external stakeholders.
  • Support the development of more junior team members.
  • Support business development activities, including drafting and presenting project proposals


  • Experience of supporting or leading technology development activities at a range of maturity levels, from concept to commercial deployment.
  • Experience of delivering technical due diligence consulting services.
  • Knowledge of key technology trends in the broader energy industry.
  • Experience in a client-facing role in a fast-paced consulting or similar environment.


A degree in a relevant subject or qualified by experience.
