If so, PwC can help you match your professional aspiration. We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Consultant for the PwC Financial Services Risk and Regulatory Team within the Advisory Consulting Practice.

Job Description & Summary

As part of the FS Consulting team, you will have the opportunity to work with like-minded, high-performing individuals as well as collaborating with colleagues from the wider Consulting team and global PwC network. Our multi-disciplinary teams are structured to best meet our clients’ requirements, with appropriate skills, expertise and levels ranging from in-depth technical knowledge through to hands-on practical experience.

Our Financial Services (‘FS’) Consulting team is a team of 80 professionals with a variety of backgrounds and experience across the insurance, banking and E-Money sectors. Our Risk and Regulatory team within FS Consulting have a range of skills spanning from regulatory engagement to upstream risk which support our clients in solving complex problems, many of whom are global financial institutions to providing support. This team is part of the wider Consulting team of 450 people, who work in PwC Ireland’s Advisory Line of Service.

Successful candidates will demonstrate an inner drive to deliver the best outcomes for our clients, will collaborate effectively within our team and use their experience and skills to provide best-in-class services to our clients. The scale of potential growth within the FS sector in Ireland, particularly the risk and regulatory landscape, presents a significant opportunity for successful candidates to become part of high performing team building trusted relationships with our clients.

As an experienced professional, you'll be exposed to a wide array of high-profile projects across all financial services sectors. You'll play a lead role in the scoping, execution, and delivery of a variety of risk and compliance advisory projects, where you will provide vision and technical expertise to our clients including:

  • Designing or enhancing Compliance and Risk Frameworks, including policies and procedures to support our client’s regulatory agenda
  • Supporting our clients on strategic initiatives linked to existing and new regulation
  • Interpretation and implementation of upcoming regulations
  • Supporting our clients with regulatory engagement and commitments, such as large-scale remediation & transformation projects
  • Reviewing client documentation relative to our client’s regulatory environment
  • Supporting and guiding our clients throughout the market entry authorisation process
  • Supporting PwC senior management across various business development initiatives
  • Supporting the Financial Services Risk and Regulatory consulting team in developing go to market thought leadership publications on a variety of compliance topics such as AML, Consumer Protection etc.

Essential skills required

  • Have the desire to work as part of high performing team, in a dynamic, challenging environment
  • Have the technical compliance knowledge including application of regulatory rules and guidance
  • You can turn complex compliance regulations into a language that others can understand
  • You have strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills, can multi-task and demonstrate flexible thinking

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills including report drafting and delivering presentations
  • You can prioritise your work and manage stakeholder expectations - both internally and client work

  • You have a critical and analytical mindset and combine technical expertise with a drive for business development.

Education / professional qualifications:

  • 3rd level degree, grade achieved at least 2.1.
  • MBA or further studies would be desirable
  • Recognised compliance qualification would be desirable
  • Recognised project management qualifications would be desirable

Experience required:

  • Minimum 4 years’ industry or consulting experience in Compliance environment, with a strong understanding of the Irish regulatory landscape for example, AML and various Conduct regulations including CPC, SME, CCMA, GDPR, F&P, MiFID etc.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, problem solving and organisational skills with a highly agile approach to work
  • Experience of working in and / or with financial service organisations
  • A strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills
  • An ability to build strong networks, both externally and within the firm
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office tools i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
