Job Description & Summary

The Strategy Consulting team at PwC help Irish and international clients set the future direction for their business and solve some of their most challenging problems. The type of projects we work on include:

- Identifying opportunities for growth
- Assessing the attractiveness of a new venture, product or market opportunity
- Conducting commercial due diligence on potential acquisition targets for corporate and private equity clients
- Market entry and route to market strategy
- Corporate M&A strategy
- Economic Impact Assessment
- Advising public sector clients on public policy and initiatives
- Sustainability and ESG strategy

You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a team of strategy professionals. You will focus on a range of local and global clients who operate across a diverse range of industries including healthcare, consumer goods, industrials, financial services, and technology. Projects range from 2 weeks to 3 months, allowing you to rapidly develop a broad spectrum of skills and experience.

As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for scoping projects, overseeing analysis, and managing the delivery of reports across a range of clients and industries. While you will have the support and oversight of senior team members, you will be expected to take a leadership role, overseeing small teams to produce client deliverables and coaching Senior Associates and Associates. 
 
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing small teams of Managers, Senior Associates and Associates to produce client deliverables on a project

  • Delivering to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and managing expectations of clients and senior team members  

  • Structuring the approach to solving the client’s problem, including identifying the analysis and research required, and storyboarding a report to present your findings to the client 

  • Conducting primary and secondary research, including interviewing market experts, distributing surveys, gathering data and desk research

  • Organizing and facilitating client and team meetings and workshops

  • Providing coaching and feedback to more junior team members 

  • Taking the lead on team and firm initiatives, including recruitment, training, business development, and thought leadership

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A strong academic track record

  • A minimum of 8 years work experience in a strategy, consulting or an analytical role 

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • A desire and ability to solve complex and open-ended client problems

  • A proactive attitude and the ability and desire to take ownership of a problem or deliverable from start to finish

  • High EQ and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels

  • Ability and desire to take the lead on both internal (within PwC) and external (client facing) initiatives and projects
