About the Team
We provide our clients with a comprehensive view of strategic communications that leverages our integrated suite of services, including financial communications, corporate reputation, transaction communications and public affairs in all the major markets around the world.
The Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting is one of the world's most highly regarded communications consultancies. Within the London office, we offer a broad base of disciplines across a variety of specialist sectors including Industrials and Business Services, financial services, retail and consumer, digital, natural resources, energy, public affairs, real estate, technology media telecoms (TMT) and life sciences.
The Industrials & Business Services team focuses on capital markets communications and has been the leading London based Industrials team for over a decade. The team supports a range of FTSE 100, 250 and fast-growing smaller companies across all their capital market needs; be it financial calendar work, M&A and / or wider reputational issues.
Special Situations also sits within the team and there will opportunities to work on fast-paced evolving situations ranging from M&A and IPOs to restructurings and crisis work.
Within the team, we also have investor relations expertise and provide support to a number of global businesses alongside undertaking investor audits for Boards and management teams.
The team which is 17 people strong is expanding to support this next phase of growth.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced communication professional to join our team at a time of growth, after a strong 2021, we are building on this with a number of exciting projects already underway. To this end, we are looking for a Senior Director who can join existing accounts to provide day-to-day leadership alongside Managing and Senior Managing Directors, help drive new business and play a critical role within the team helping more junior members progress and develop.

Deliver to Clients
- Manage / support on the execution of communications programmes, including both retained and project work, ensuring that client programmes are agreed and project plans are implemented
- Advise a portfolio of clients, and develop excellent relationships with client group
- Help to run results days and other financial calendar events
- Highly proactive approach to sourcing and creating client media opportunities
- Draft client plans and proposals
- Develop content ideas, showing strong insights into the news agenda
- Write press releases, commentaries and statements to a high standard
- Handle preparation and planning associated with client financial results
- Support issues management, including drafting of Q&A statements
- One of the main points of contact for client handling, offering counsel and insights - and managing often tight deadlines
- Enable more junior members of the team to grow their roles on accounts
- Identify opportunities to grow existing mandates and cross sell wider FTI offerings
Team Involvement
- Media relationships across print, trade and broadcast outlets
- Corporate finance and broking relationships
- Sell-side analyst relationships
- Share ideas and client information with the team
- Share knowledge, insights and experience with colleagues
- Develop relationships with other teams within FTI
- Support in managing team processes and in the training / development of junior team members
- Drive new business development and marketing
Qualifications & Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent 2:1 (or equivalent)
- Strong media relations skills
- Previous financial communications experience
- M&A experience
- Experience in corporate communications/b2b
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Ability to work effectively within a busy team
- Takes a pragmatic and 'can do' approach
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in a PR agency role
