The Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting is one of the world's most highly regarded communications consultancies. Our data science and analytics group, part of our Digital and Insights practice, is seeking an entrepreneurial and creative Senior Director to help fuel the next stage of its growth. The Senior Director will work in close collaboration with our EMEA Head of Data and Analytics and the practice leadership to lead the London team and grow our business intelligence and data science work. The role will also sit on our London Operations Team for Digital and Insights.
The successful candidate will lead analytics projects for clients, spot and secure new opportunities, lead and coordinate team members, advance new business efforts, deliver actionable insights and promote our data-driven working culture. They will also work in unison with other subject matter experts to create holistic solutions for clients and will champion the work of our wider Digital and Insights practice across the business.

What You'll Do
- Identify growth opportunities and secure new client engagements in the data analytics space
- Run analytics projects for clients as the primary point of contact
- Lead, coordinate, motivate and teach team members, ranging from analysts to communication experts
- Accurately identify and frame client challenges and propose data-driven solutions
- Design and manage projects in the areas of audience & influencer insights, conversation & media analysis, campaign & message performance, event assessment and more
- Combine and further develop our data services to solve complex challenges for our clients, especially regarding their communication and reputation efforts
- Detect hidden patterns, identify trends, reveal drivers, predict developments, visualize similarities and differences, and otherwise leverage data to deliver actionable insights
- Develop and manage project scopes, timelines and financial parameters
- Collaborate with other experts on the research, planning and development of data-driven projects
- Support new business efforts by delivering data-driven insights to inform our approach
- Support the development of thought leadership surrounding emerging trends and issues
- Promote the value of analytics and insights to advance our data-driven culture within the firm
- Work closely with a diverse, global team of data and digital experts on clients across the world

Qualifications & Experience
Basic Qualifications
- Proven expertise in turning information into actionable insights
- Proven track record in business development - end to end pitch and credentials management
- Strong intellectual curiosity and exceptional critical thinking
- Ability to translate abstract and technical concepts into simple language and relatable ideas
- Passion for tackling challenging problems and skilled in handling ambiguity and uncertainty
- Experience with media and conversation analysis
- Talent for establishing rapport and growing relationships with client and colleagues
- Ability to direct, inspire, galvanize, and coach junior team members
- 8 years of experience in a data and analytics environment
- Proficiency with digital listening tools (e.g. Brandwatch/Talkwalker)
- Experience in scoping and managing analytics projects
- Appetite for learning and teaching others
- Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team
- Capability to work with other subject matter experts on joint solutions
- Strong sense of data and artificial intelligence ethics
- Excellent English
Desirable Qualifications
- Work experience in consulting
- Foundational programming skills in Python, SQL and/or R
- Statistical skills and experience with statistics programs (e.g. Excel/SPSS/STATA)
- Expertise with data visualization tools (preferably Tableau, Gephi)
- Expertise in journalism, media, communications, or marketing
- Additional language skills
