About the Role

The Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting is one of the most highly regarded communications consultancies globally. We offer a broad base of disciplines across a variety of specialist sectors including financial services, retail and consumer, digital, natural resources, energy, public affairs, real estate, professional services, people & change, technology media telecoms (TMT) and life sciences.

The 40-strong UK Financial Services team builds and protects reputational value for an exciting group of UK and international clients in the financial services space, often collaborating with colleagues overseas. This includes banks and investment banks, asset managers, private banks, private equity firms, venture capital, hedge funds and governments.

You would be joining a fast-paced team which delivers financial calendar and transaction, corporate communications and campaigning support and advice to its clients, and works with colleagues across the business to deliver multi-stakeholder communications, which includes digital, public affairs and ESG. The team values hard work, an entrepreneurial approach and the capacity to take on new ideas and develop knowledge. Equally, the team places great emphasis on its close-knit culture, which has been a key driver of its successful growth over the last 10 years.

What You'll Do

You will play a fundamental role within your account teams, delivering high-quality work for an array of financial services clients. Responsibilities will include:
  • Deliver corporate communications programmes, helping to develop and maintain media relationships and managing news hook calendars for multi-channel opportunities
  • Support account teams to deliver financial calendar PR including analyst mapping, logistics around financial results reporting and tracking client peer group financial reporting
  • Assist senior team members in creatively preparing and delivering the client strategy including draft press releases, draft media statements, media pitches and award entries
  • Network alongside colleagues, with relevant journalists and clients
  • Daily news and social media monitoring, delivering analysis reports internally and to external clients
  • Compile client activity reports, helping to keep account teams on track with deliverables
  • Focus on client retention through exemplary service delivery, working alongside clients to ensure timescales and quality assurance are met

  • Deliver research and contribute to new business pitch documents for the team
  • Proactively network with media and industry contacts, as well as potential clients
  • Participate in weekly team meetings by contributing ideas and client information with the team
  • Develop relationships with other teams within FTI, including UK and overseas colleagues


Basic Qualifications / Qualifications & Experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • At least a year's experience in an in-house communications, social media, content, or PR agency role is vital
  • Possess or have the desire to develop excellent contacts within the Financial Services sector, including media, analysts and clients
  • Experience in the Financial Services and related sectors is an advantage
  • Experience in digital communications, although not a prerequisite.
