Job Description & Summary: 

The Operations Senior Manager role will provide you with the opportunity to play a central role in managing both the commercials, the associated processes and the flexible workforce model within a rapidly growing and expanding Consulting practice. 

You will focus on sales operations, commercial oversight, flexible workforce modelling, forecasting, reporting and planning. This is a critical, exciting and dynamic role that ensures our Consulting practice runs efficiently and profitably.  You will manage a team of strong commercial and operations analysts and report directly to the Commercial Director.

What you’ll do

Sales operations

  • Provide monthly reporting, data & operational support to sector leaders

  • Track opportunities in our pipeline (Salesforce)

  • Act as key focal point for Salesforce queries and guidelines

  • Own Must WIN opportunity process

  • Target setting (in conjunction with Commercial Director) and tracking for Sectors and Priority clients 

  • Drive account planning process to ensure we have clear plan each Priority Client 

  • Coordinate monthly / annual reviews 

Forecasting and analysis 

  • Revenue and pipeline forecasting using predefined models

  • Analysis of revenue actuals  - identity business units gaps to targets & data issues

  • Review available resource forecasts in conjunction with resource manager

  • Provide monthly trend analysis and insights to support partners presentation and reviews

  • Maintain and improve the revenue forecasting model covering sectors, pillars and competency

  • Support commercial analysts in driving commercial hygiene & operational excellence

Planning, Reporting & monitoring

  • Designing and overseeing commercial reporting across consulting dimensions: pillars, competency and go to market (sales function)

  • Own management information dashboard - landing page for all reporting and data

  • Prepare weekly dashboard and overseeing partner reporting 

  • Track Director and Senior manager financial performance

  • Attend weekly resource availability meetings and partner with Resource manager

  • Manage offshore resource to produce all management information

  • Support annual planning process across all dimensions

  • Track and report on progress versus plan

  • Document actions for key leaders and follow up

  • Manage consulting IT budget (in conjunction with Commercial Director)

Flexible workforce modelling

  • Lead sourcing strategy on Operate, External Contractors and Network resources

  • Build robust process for sourcing skills, onboarding and associated governance  - Ensure we have a robust one stop shop for sourcing talent 

  • Build relationships with Acceleration Centres

  • Forecast demand (Salesforce) & integrate with supply (Talentlink, Contractors, SDC)

  • Optimise sourcing (Operate, Contractors, SDCs)  to maximise margin while maintaining quality

  • Provide contract and commercial oversight on flexible resourcing and pricing

  • Operate - implement operations process and controls and support sourcing strategy 

  • Team integration playbook for external resources (including resource feedback)

  • Seamless sourcing processes for Engagement Leads

  • KPI Management focused on utilisation; onboarding; attrition; quality; margin; etc

Team management

  • Work closely with our offshore team to improve efficiencies and bring in more stability  to data processes

  • Manage the day to day activities of the onshore and offshore operations team

  • Partner with Finance and HR 

Digital & Process improvement

  • Bring operational efficiencies across the team through digital engagement

  • Identify recommendations for process improvements, implement, and update documentations across key areas

  • Support automation process via technology team to reduce admin

Whilst prior finance and operations management experience is required, what is equally important is that you have a willingness to learn, a client centric mentality, excellent communication skills and want to join a dynamic team that provides critical business support to Consulting. On the job training will be provided.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or related field

  • Finance/accounting qualification/experience

Skills: 

  • 5+ years’ proven experience in an operations management position

  • Experience in forecasting, reporting and management of operational processes

  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft in Excel/Google sheets & powerpoint

  • Ability to work with Tableau and workflows in Alteryx or other data prep tools are desirable, but not essential (training will be provided)

  • Some understanding of how professional services firms operate
