About the Role:
The Travel & Expense Specialist position is a support role within the AP/Travel & Expense (T&E) Team that reports to the EMEA AP/T&E Supervisor. The T&E specialist is responsible for all aspects of the expense reimbursement -to-cash process within the AP/T&E function, as well supporting other administrative functions within the department.

FTI's front end T&E (and Accounts Payable) application is Chrome River which feeds the Elite Enterprise General Ledger (GL)

Primary Duties:
  • Timely processing of all T&E reimbursement claims from employees across the EMEA region, through Chrome River
  • Reviewing of T&E claims to ensure adherence to FTI Global Travel policy, with the responsibility to approve/reject where appropriate
  • Ensuring all accounts T&E claims are correctly posted to the General Ledger using appropriate cost centre or balance sheet codes
  • Ensuring T&E reimbursement claims are applied and passed-through to client billable projects or 'matters' where appropriate
  • Assistance in the monthly bank reconciliation process ensuring all payments are correctly coded to match on the multiple bank reconciliations
  • Ensuring strict adherence with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) principles and FTI Internal policies, relating specifically to the appropriate approval of T&E claims before payment
  • Manage questions from the business and ensuring issues are resolved timely, efficiently and professionally
  • Preparing multi-currency payment runs on a regular basis using various banking platforms (mainly RBS/NatWest & HSBC)
  • Assist in preparation and management of payment run calendars
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • T&E and/or Accounts Payable experience and ideally in a holistic T&E claim (or invoice-to-cash) role, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Experience working within a high volume transaction environment
  • Experience working in multi-currency environment
  • Experience of using an automated front end Accounts Payable approval application (e.g. Chrome River, Concur, SAP, Oracle or other similar ERP applications)
  • Ability to interact with business experts in a professional, timely and courteous manner
  • Ability to interact with external suppliers in a professional, timely and courteous manner
  • Understanding of VAT and applicability to T&E reclaim processes
  • Proficient in excel

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience of a professional services environment
  • Experience of approving and rejecting T&E claims across all levels of the business per company T&E policy
  • Knowledge of Chrome River and/or Elite Enterprise
  • Experience working within an EMEA focused finance function
  • Energetic, self-driven and able to prioritise workload without consistent direction
  • Quick learner
  • Open team player who is able to take on a variety of responsibilities
  • An effective communicator,both oral and written, as the individual may be responsible for explaining where expense claims are not in compliance with internal company policy
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data is essential #LI-MD1
