Purpose of the role:
An opportunity exists for a Digital Financial Services experienced professional (Director level) based in our London office.
Deeply familiar with the challenges that the Financial Services sector faces in today’s challenging market conditions, the successful hire will be experienced in delivering digital solutions that address businesses critical issues. They will shape and drive end to end digital change across financial services organisations and create and maximise value.
The successful appointee will work with our existing team and build the profile and reputation of the firm in the digital transformation space with a route to market directly into Financial Services across the EMEA region. Building on the success of the A&M brand, the successful candidate will ideally bring experience from both operational and advisory roles in the Financial Services sector.
The preferred candidate will support business development and execute a specific strategy focused on target clients and distinctive go-to-market propositions. They will reflect the operational distinctiveness that is A&M; a business savvy, solution focused business entrepreneur determined to make a difference and not be afraid to challenge the status-quo.
Key responsibilities:
Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Acting as an execution team leader for digital transformation to the financial services industry
- Supporting the development and delivery of the FS digital strategy; creating new client relationships and deepening existing ones, and helping sustain appropriate revenues
- Helping coordinate with the broader EMEA FS and digital teams, developing a joined-up, go to market approach, leading international project teams, as well as developing the brand
- Advising FS clients on digital problem areas, recommending solutions and providing technical advice
- Working closely with senior stakeholders in clients’ business and with professionals from leading financial institutions.
Requirements for this position:
The preferred candidate for this appointment will be an execution-focused self-starter with entrepreneurial flair. They will be comfortable working independently as well as part of a high performing team. Critically, they will bring a network of contacts with a successful track record of successfully executing digital projects in financial services.
Specifically, the successful candidate will have:
- Successful track record in digital financial services, preferably banking, within a well-established consulting outfit – from a top tier strategy firm, a leading specialist and/or niche advisory firm or ‘Big 4’ consultancy
- Well established leadership experience, with the above outlined advisory experience
- Will be an expert in digital financial services bringing expertise in all or some of the following: strategy, operating model, RPA/AI, and end to end journey redesign
- An analytical mindset and approach that can break down problems to their root cause and create highly logical solutions.
- Experience and insight from working with technology providers across the FS digital spectrum and delivering state of the art solutions
- Demonstrable track record in converting business contacts and leads into sustainable, profitable revenue streams
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing. Experience of leading end-of-project reports and client-ready materials is essential.
- Bring experience of managing teams and working across multiple locations in Europe (and ideally globally), including third-party and in-house teams
- An undergraduate degree with an outstanding record of academic achievement
Desirable but not essential:
- A demonstrable track record of financial services experiences outside of consulting
- Additional European language skills such as French or Spanish
