Due to the growth of the business we require additional resource within our accounting team to maintain the accuracy of our records.  With numerous locations around Europe this role will work closely with our overseas accountants and will report to the Finance Manager within our finance team of 31 based in the European Head Office in Moorgate, London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Finance Manager and working with two other Financial Accountants and five assistant accountants on all financial accounting for the UK & European businesses

  • Liaising with our accounting and tax agents in continental Europe

  • Perform reconciliations between local country GAAP and UK GAAP, documenting local country GAAP adjustments

  • Assisting with monthly close to global deadlines including preparation and posting of month-end journals

  • Working with Assistant accountant to prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve difference

  • Assist with intercompany reconciliations and invoicing

  • Preparing data for foreign VAT returns and ensuring these are correctly reported to the local fiscal authority

  • Assist with the preparation of the UK group financial statements and reviewing foreign financial statements prepared by local accountant

  • Assist the Finance Manager with queries/requests for information from auditors and external accountants throughout Europe, Russia, Middle East and Cayman Islands

  • Liaising with Accounts Payable and Billing Teams to ensure that costs are correctly allocated to each business unit

  • Assistance with ad-hoc projects as and when required

Skills and qualifications

  • Qualified accountant

  • Previous experience of an international multi-site business with exposure to FX transactions

  • Experience of preparing group financial statements in accordance with FRS 102

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Professional services experience would be desirable

  • The candidate should be able to meet deadlines, be results orientated and have a “can do” attitude

  • You will be a natural team player who can interact easily with your colleagues and have strong communication skills
