The H&PS Strategy & Consulting team are working at the centre of high-profile transformations within the UK Public Service as well as multiple healthcare providers. Within the practice, you will work on innovative projects with colleagues and clients to drive excellence from strategy through to implementation, making changes that directly impact citizens. The Strategy & Business Design team supports our clients’ transformation journeys by helping them navigate uncertainty to deliver greater value today and in the future. You will have the opportunity to work on engagements that involve business strategy development, financial analysis, business case development and investment analysis, – often with a focus on new technologies and innovations and often working alongside colleagues from across the Accenture ecosystem.

As an H&PS Business Case Consultant, you will:

• Work on projects across our Health & Public Service clients, including central government departments, public safety agencies, and various healthcare companies and organisations (public and private)
• Cultivate trust-based client relationships with senior stakeholders
• Develop clear strategic narratives, exposing key client decisions and creating recommendations that are focused on areas of greatest value
• Apply quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to develop a detailed understanding of a client’s business, and drive issue-based discussions grounded in a clear understanding of their challenges and opportunities, and evidenced by data, as an input into business cases or business strategies
• Use a human-centered approach to solve problems, frame opportunities, and achieve innovation through collaboration and co-creation
• Own streams of complex work that meet client expectations on delivering value-centric, data-driven outcomes
• Lead teams to deliver excellence to the client

We are looking for experience in the following skills:

We want you to be driven to develop yourself and others, an ability to see and articulate the bigger picture of how individual projects and deliverables create value for citizens and a passion for innovation and the latest technology trends. This role will require creative thinking, excellent client communication skills and the ability to identify new innovative ways to apply our skills and services to solve a wider set of client problems.

As well as the above, you should have experience/expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Experience of developing analytical / economic / financial models, ideally (but not essential) in-line with the HMT Green Book
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Experience developing and delivering clear and compelling strategic narratives, for example as part of business cases or investment proposals
• Experience of working with / leading clients through complex problem solving and strategy definition
• Ability to design and deliver human centered client engagements, e.g. via experience in design thinking
• Experience of delivering projects using Agile techniques and frameworks
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the capability to influence senior stakeholders

Set yourself apart:

• Experience in owning and managing relationships with leadership (either with your clients or internal stakeholders)
• Certified in financial modelling or quantitative analysis
• Experience as a Design Thinking or Service Design practitioner
• Experience of working with Health & Public Service clients on strategy or business case engagements
• Experience of, or interest in, ‘Zero Based Everything’ – using a clean-sheet mindset to prioritise the allocation of resources, fuel growth, and create sustainable value
• Experience of using data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik, etc)
