Senior Consultant, Business Transformation - Global Insurance Services


About the Role

In FTI's Global Insurance Services practice, we value innovative problem-solving, a collaborative mindset, and a focus on quality. We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our growing team of Business Transformation experts in the EMEA Global Insurance Services (GIS) practice of FTI Consulting.

You will play a key role in driving the ambitious growth plans of the Business Transformation service line within GIS through supporting the delivery of client engagements requiring a range of business transformation capabilities and by performing research and in-depth analysis to assist in identifying new market opportunities.

You will be part of a global team which includes complementary GIS service lines including Advanced Analytics & Digital, Data Solutions and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). The GIS EMEA practice is a thriving segment within FTI with very ambitious growth plans over the next 5 years. You will have excellent opportunities to learn, develop and grow rapidly as a consultant, while influencing and contributing directly to the strategy and growth trajectory of the segment.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with business transformation colleagues to assist in the delivery and coordination of client business improvement & change initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of effective and collaborative relationships between Business Transformation, other areas of FTI and clients.
  • Support the ongoing development and research of new client opportunities. This includes research & investigation of both familiar and unfamiliar topics & providing advice and guidance to others to meet business needs and requirements of the team.
  • Work on client engagements, interacting directly with senior client contacts, leading, or facilitating client meetings and producing client-ready deliverables (e.g. presentations, reports, process maps and models).
  • Work with business transformation colleagues on developing proposals for specific projects, and proposition material to showcase team capabilities and service offerings.
  • Apply your knowledge of business improvement, process optimisation and change management to assist clients.
  • Structure and analyse large datasets to provide metric driven insights.
  • Work on projects and proposals with other related parts of GIS, including Advanced Analytics & Digital/Data, M&A and Sustainability services.

How You'll Grow

Business transformation is a growing and dynamic team within GIS, where you can both broaden and deepen your skills across a wide variety of projects, from the development of target operating models and new ways of working, to Lean process optimisation, customer experience mapping, post-merger integration support and regulatory driven transformations. You will have the opportunity to be involved directly in the team's strategic decision-making, shaping our growth plans, and client offerings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in a business consulting or change management role
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience operating in a financial services environment preferably with a good understanding of Insurance products and processes.
  • Experience and knowledge of project management principles Prince, Agile, PMP etc.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Lean process optimisation skills including the ability to develop accurate process maps, conduct root cause analysis, identify, and quantify improvements etc.
  • Working knowledge of other methods, principles, and approaches related to business performance improvement (target operating model design, performance management, solutions design etc.)
  • Ability to analyse and structure business performance metrics/data and provide data driven insights
  • Strong problem solving and innovation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills using a variety of different mediums
  • Ability to manage the resolution of issues, problems, and differences across a range of business or client related matters
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills able to influence others, handle challenges & conflicting priorities comfortably
  • Negotiating & influencing skills with both external & internal stakeholders
  • Interest in engaging with firm-wide initiatives (e.g. Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, Corporate Citizen initiatives, FTI networks etc.)
  • Familiarity with working effectively on more than one project at a time.
