Our established Retail & Consumer team focuses on enterprise wide change to particularly help drive EBITDA improvement. Our highly experienced experts successfully work with clients in strategic transformation situations, either where an activist investor is looking for accelerated results, or where a company is looking to sustainably improve their earnings and profitability goals. We also help our clients navigate complex merger integrations and carve-outs and work for corporations across Retail, Consumer Products and B2C Commercial. Our scope of services includes turnarounds in both consulting and interim management positions in various functions including general management.

The role

Following the continued success of our Retail & Consumer team, we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst or Consultant to join the team in London. Supported by the European CTS team, you will assist in business development initiatives covering knowledge management and reporting.

You will make good use of your outstanding financial background and problem-solving skills to become an integral part of our successful ‘hands-on’ team. Based in London, you will work closely with the pan-European senior leadership to identify opportunities for further growth and development. As a valued member of the team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the Retail & Consumer Chain team and Business Development leaders across A&M to identify leads
  • Preparing analysis and presentations to support business development and key account initiatives of the practice/pillar (you will build models based on financial and/or operational data)
  • Being the go-to person of the Retail & Consumer pillar for matters relating to business development, reporting and knowledge management
  • Maintaining and managing leads throughout the sales pipeline
  • Supporting the Retail & Consumer team with internal business reporting and milestones
  • Assisting in pitch preparation and pitches
  • Presenting your work convincingly to the senior members of the A&M team
  • Navigating a P&L and identifying trends, red flags and potential sources of value creation
  • Identifying resource needs and milestones to accomplish assigned work by deadlines
  • Demonstrating sound judgement (you should know when to cross check important decisions)
  • Building lasting relationships with client management, staff and other professionals
  • Building internal network of contacts and referral sources with professionals and institutions
  • Demonstrating integrity, responsibility, and understanding A&M cultural values

The Candidate

To be considered you will have:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree from a leading university or business school
  • Experience in Consulting or Professional Services
  • Solid knowledge of data analysis and financial modelling
  • Excellent written and presentation skills. As such an excellent knowledge of Excel (to analyse the data) and PowerPoint (to present the analyses) is essential
  • Fluency in French or German is advantageous.
