About the Role

We are currently seeking talented and ambitious individuals with experience of complex entity priority modelling to join our London based Restructuring team. Typical Restructuring team assignments include lead financial restructuring advisory; financial, operational, and commercial due diligence; business reviews; cash and working capital management; valuation; contingency planning and insolvency. We are particularly looking for individuals with strong entity priority modelling experience. You would be part of our Restructuring team with specific responsibility for complex models, including entity priority models. Where there is capacity, there may be scope to support other parts of our wider Corporate Finance team with modelling expertise.

What You'll Do

  • Day-to-day project management of the engagement (either a modelling focused engagement, or the modelling workstream of an engagement) involving:
  • Assisting in the structuring of the engagement approach, scope, and deliverables
  • Taking a leadership role in the delivery of the engagement or significant workstream in the engagement (particularly for more senior levels)
  • Leading model build and model review assignments, and ensuring robust models are developed which provide high levels of flexibility and are user-friendly
  • Managing the team to address the scope within the required timeframe and budget
  • Forming initial views and opinions on the engagement to debate with either lead Managing Director or Senior Managing Director
  • Take a lead role in business development activities, such as:
  • Contributing to thought leadership presentations and events
  • On the job coaching of our team and providing training activities

How You'll Grow

The role will allow you flexibility to put in place your own framework for success and to work collaboratively with the wider team to support the exciting growth in the FTI Corporate Finance practice. The role is, by its nature, flexible allowing for the expansion of opportunities or responsibilities outside of the areas set out above into other matters that you feel can contribute to the broader remit to enhance our technical compliance and operational leanness. There is also the opportunity to interact with industry bodies and networks and / or develop thought management. Given the focus on technical excellence, the role will demand that you remain keen to learn and full support will be given to any third-party training or coaching required to assist with the role.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s).
  • Ability to work in a meritocratic structure which recognises and rewards individual contribution
  • Excellent analytical skills, including presentation of outputs
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and manipulation/analysis of diverse data sets, including strong entity priority modelling skill set
  • Ability to be flexible with the demands of transaction / project-based work that can require periods of intensive work
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team with diverse skill sets
  • We are open to considering candidates of all levels with experience of entity priority modelling, with particular focus on candidates who have experience of taking a lead role on such engagements.
  • Additional experience of building or working with other models in a financial restructuring context would be advantageous e.g., capital structure models, business plan models.
  • Experience of discussing and presenting findings to clients, other stakeholders, or senior internal team members
  • Candidates may have experience of either i) working as part of a dedicated modelling team which supports a range of teams including restructuring colleagues or ii) working within a restructuring team and have taken a lead role on complex modelling assignments.
