About the Role

Directors and Senior Directors are instrumental members of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team within the broader EMEA Insurance practice. You will be actively involved in both contentious and non contentious matters for our clients, working closely with senior members of the team in both EMEA and the US, as well as directly with clients. The team is led by a group of highly experienced and diverse set of individuals from insurers, consultancies, corporate and legal backgrounds, who have significant relationships with leading clients and legal advisors across the insurance sector.

We are involved in advising insurers and lawyers in strategic, mission-critical areas focused on mitigation of liability. This is an excellent opportunity for a Director level candidate to help build out our expert services focused on technical insurance issues focused on underwriting, claims, technical areas of (re)insurance. The role will involve the assessment and quantification of losses through application of contract terms.

What You'll Do

• Lead and assist in the delivery of client projects by providing expertise on technical insurance and reinsurance issues.
• Supporting or serving as an Expert Witness in Proceedings.
• Lead and manage internal and external staff.
• Play an active role in the overall strategic direction and day-to-day management of the LDRCC Service line and its impact into the ongoing success of the EMEA insurance practice.
• Manage the resolution of issues, problems and differences across a range of business or client related matters.
• Communicate effectively across a range of levels and areas in respect of all matters relating to the role.
• Contribute to the development of effective and co-operative relationships between LDRCC, other areas of GIS, FTI and clients.
• Support the ongoing development of new client opportunities with an extensive contact network of (re)insurance, accounting and legal community relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of 7 years' experience operating in a (re) insurance technical, managerial or consultancy environment.
• While we work across multiple lines and classes of business, experience with at least multiple areas will be beneficial including at least one of: motor, property & casualty, marine, political risk, Financial Lines, Aviation .
• Proven track record of identifying technical issues at a high level, directing and overseeing staff to developing robust , structured reports and Opinions.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills able to influence others in negotiations, handle challenges & conflicting priorities comfortably.
• Strong analytical and forensic review skills.
• Strong network of contacts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including report writingOur Benefits
