In our team you will learn to:

  • Use your judgment to solve complex, ambiguous client business problems, bringing structure and rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques; acting and taking decisions with little management oversight

  • Understand the strategic direction set by senior management, and use rigorous analysis to address our clients’ business challenges and deliver lasting and distinctive outcomes and value

  • Develop knowledge of prevailing trends, financials and operating drivers across Life Sciences, identifying industry-specific operating metrics and linking them to relevant financial metrics to identify the key value drivers for a client

  • Make, build and sustain trusted senior client relationships in the C-suite by remaining highly attuned to client needs and styles. Present key findings to C-suite clients

  • Be part of high performing multidisciplinary Strategy teams, learning and supporting team members and leadership and coaching and mentoring analysts

  • Contribute to business development activities including opportunity identification/qualification and proposal development/presentation

  • Support practice/community building efforts such as recruitment, actively mentoring others and contributing to performance management and training activities; develop offerings, assets, capabilities and relevant thought leadership

  • Engage with the wider Strategy community in UKI to foster collaboration and support growth and development of the business.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver successful strategy engagements addressing our clients’ business challenges, providing lasting and distinctive outcomes and value in disciplines such as:

    • Apply a value mindset to identify and shape opportunities for top-line growth for Life Sciences Commercial clients

    • Develop go-to-market launch strategies for activating HCPs and patients in a compelling and differentiated way

    • Design new Commercial capability and operating models to embed the right ways of working, governance and culture to achieve new value and growth

    • Collaborate with your Accenture colleagues and leaders in our Interactive, Technology and Operations services to serve scaled platform-based sales and marketing transformations

    • Own trusted relationships with client stakeholders in Commercial Strategy and Operations, business units and brand teams as you help them achieve their goals

    • Contribute to compelling Life Sciences Commercial thought leadership and share best practice as part of our Life Sciences Commercial squad network

  • Help identify and structure key issues into an issue-tree and set of hypotheses and plan and conduct research and analyses that address them

  • Understand client strategic/operational issues and structure the problem in order to develop hypotheses around possible solutions

  • Structure and create business/market assessments and identify appropriate tools to be used and analyses to be done

  • Develop and utilize industry knowledge to be able to make implementation-oriented recommendations

  • Develop business cases to identify, measure and realise enterprise value

  • Compile and analyze data to prove or disprove hypotheses

  • Conduct primary and secondary research to unearth facts and generate actionable insights

  • Contribute to business development and  building Accenture’s Life Sciences offerings, assets, capabilities and thought leadership

We are looking for experience in the following:

  • Good experience at a top tier or boutique consulting firm or through an ‘in-house’ consulting / business development role (e.g. Group Strategy, Group Corporate Development), with a particular focus on:

    • Commercial strategy to activate HCPs and patients in a compelling and differentiated way, including go-to-market / launch strategies

    • Commercial capability and operating models to deliver new strategies

    • Applying a value mindset to identify and shape opportunities for top-line growth

  • Familiarity with recognized Strategy frameworks and techniques

  • Experience of research, quantitative analysis, structured problem solving and executive communication techniques

  • Experience of building relationships at all levels in an organization

  • A high-level understanding of how Life Sciences operates including products, players, value chain business models, operating models, industry trends and challenges and regulatory frameworks

  • A robust understanding of Life Sciences commercial strategy

  • Experience working in diverse teams in complex strategy/consulting engagements, delivering high-quality output in short timeframes

Academic Requirements:                                                                                 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • Experience in the Life Sciences industry
