Few industries have been impacted by the digital shift as much as retail. COVID19 has now accelerated many of the consumer and industry trends to leave retailers and brands facing a fundamentally different landscape that continues to move at pace. The opportunities for retailers and brands to go direct to consumer, to engage with consumers in a highly personalised way, to deliver differentiated experiences, to build new partnerships and a much broader ecosystem have never been greater. At the same time, the hard work of building the enabling elements behind the scenes including the digital operations, the technology stack, the new operating models and the ways of working to survive in this environment often require more work than the up-front strategic thinking around the proposition. Our skills and ability to help clients in this area have never been in higher demand than today.
The Retail Strategy & Consulting practice has grown significantly over the last 5 years – in part driven by the acquisitions of the Javelin Group and Kurt Salmon – both pre-eminent specialists in retail consulting. Within the practice you would be joining the Retail Strategy team of c.50 people with a focus on helping our bricks & mortar, omni-channel and pureplay clients embrace the challenges and opportunities that the shift to digital brings. Our team pride themselves on being retail specialists with a relentless focus on knowing what is happening in the market, understanding the client context and delivering strategies that are both differentiated but also practical as we often get involved in implementing our solutions.

In this role you will:
Work with leading retailers and brands from around the globe across all retail categories including grocery, apparel, electronics, homewares and home improvement
Lead project teams to deliver project work on various topics including digital and growth strategy, retail operations and competitive agility
Support business development work such as proposals and thought leadership working closely with the practice lead Managing Directors and Senior Managers
We are looking for experience in the following skills:
Digital retail strategy skills for retailers or brands
Digital transformation experience – customer facing or internal – within retail or consumer goods sector
Digital or in-store retail operations skills (supply chain, direct to consumer fulfilment, customer service etc.)
Strategy consulting skills from a top tier or boutique consulting firm or internal strategy role
Set yourself apart:
Proven management and delivery of digital / growth / operations strategy projects in the retail industry
Ability to handle difficult client situations and emerge with positive resolution for both client and company
Data driven, analytical and logical thinking skills needed to help solve our client’s biggest challenges
