Accenture Strategy’s UK Banking and Capital Markets business shapes the future for banks, asset & wealth managers and exchanges. The outlook for these sectors is certainly challenging with Covid-19 disruption, regulatory scrutiny, margin pressure and the burden of legacy operating models and technology.  At the same time, stakeholders of all types expect new value to be delivered – value linked to sustainability and responsibility.  A ‘decade of action’ lies ahead with the leaders accelerating towards a model which is purpose-driven, operationally innovative and value-generating.

In our team you will learn to:

  • Lead definition of strategic direction, using rigorous analysis to address our clients’ business challenges and deliver lasting and distinctive outcomes and value

  • Enhance and refine your expert knowledge of prevailing trends, financials and operating drivers across Banking and Capital Markets, identifying industry specific operating metrics and linking them to relevant financial metrics to identify the key value drivers for a client

  • Build and sustain trusted senior client relationships in the C-suite

  • Run Accenture’s business (including sales & opportunity management, cost management, contract management) contributing towards evolution of Accenture’s Growth Strategy

  • Actively engage with the wider strategy community in UKI

In this role you will:

  • Lead successful strategy engagements addressing our clients’ business challenges, delivering lasting and distinctive outcomes and value in disciplines such as:

    • Corporate and Business Strategy

      • Helping our clients with “Go to market” strategy design, including portfolios and product offerings assessment, divestments decisions, offerings expansion, booking model design and implementation

    • Operating Model Strategy and Transformation

      • Helping our clients to establish new mindsets and structures that drive long term value aligned to their strategic direction

    • Innovation and Growth

      • Solving for profitability and enterprise value by helping our clients to reimagine value chains and offerings

  • Understand client issues and structure the problem to develop hypotheses around possible solutions; understand company’s key strategic/operational issues (market definition, industry trends, client issues)

  • Structure and create business/market assessments and identify appropriate tools to be used and analyses to be done

  • Utilize and refine industry knowledge to be able to make implementation-oriented recommendations

  • Drive business development activities including opportunity identification/ qualification, proposal development/ presentation and commercial contract negotiation

  • Shape and drive the development of the Accenture Strategy Banking and Capital Markets practice

We are looking for experience in the following:

·        Relevant experience at a top tier or boutique consulting firm or through an ‘in-house’ consulting / business development role (e.g. Group Strategy, Group Corporate Development), with a particular focus on:

o    Corporate and business strategy definition

o    Business model assessment, design and implementation

o    Operating model assessment, design and implementation

·        Expertise in recognised strategy frameworks and techniques

·        An excellent understanding of how Banking and Capital Markets clients operate including products, players, value chains, business models, operating models, industry trends and challenges and regulatory frameworks

·        Deep experience of research, quantitative analysis, structured problem solving and executive communication techniques

·        Experience developing external thought leadership and relevant points of views across Banking and Capital Markets with strong knowledge of ecosystem trends, prevailing investment themes and client challenges, customer trends, new technologies, and implications of economic and political changes

·        Proven experience of building relationships at all levels in an organization, especially with client Senior Executives. Acting as a trusted senior client advisor, showing identifiable personal and professional attributes to encourage and influence bold decision making and delivering sometimes difficult messages to senior clients with confidence and empathy

·        Proven track record of leading medium to large size teams, or multiple engagements, and consistently delivering on complex, high profile strategy engagements

·        Strong evidence and experience of developing, coaching, mentoring and inspiring team members

·        Strong track record in sales origination, including end-to-end identification, qualification and closure of opportunities. Experience in leading responses to RFPs and tender documents

·        Strong track record in strategy and consulting engagement financial management, including resource and cost management, contract management and client negotiation

 

Academic Requirements:

 

·        Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
