A&M Insight Center is the rapidly growing research and content strategy arm of Alvarez & Marsal.  The mission of A&M Insight Center is to provide our professionals and our client executives with highly relevant, industry specific, actionable, fact-based insights derived through our proprietary benchmark and research studies on a global basis.  The group was founded to adhere to one of A&M’s founding principles, “No shooting from the hip.” The A&M Insight Center supports client work and business development projects with an ever-growing toolbox of products, including custom benchmarking and research studies and targeted subscriptions and resources. The team considers research both a science and an art, and as such is committed to developing high-quality, unique and insightful deliverables to support stakeholders.

The A&M Insight Center is looking for an experienced writer/editor/content producer to develop high-quality, research-driven thought leadership content. The ideal candidate is:

  • Passionate about written communication, a true wordsmith and storyteller

  • Professional and experienced in business etiquette

  • Able to communicate the value of Thought Leadership both internally and externally

  • Detail-oriented, a stickler for facts, accuracy, thoroughness and deadlines

  • Organized and capable of keeping contributors and projects on track

  • An entrepreneurial thinker and creative problem-solver

  • Team-oriented, but self-starting

Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, produce and assist with overall quality assurance of content deliverables, including reports, articles, newsletters and copy for infographics and/or other content forms

  • Proactively identify timely or topical opportunities for thought leadership content

  • Work with contributors/authors to edit and ensure appropriate cadence for deliverables

  • Engage with internal clients and business leaders to understand project goals and requirements

  • Manage assigned projects from research to production with minimal daily oversight

  • Proactively communicate project timelines, requirements, individual responsibilities and risks with all project contributors and stakeholders

  • Proactively provide project updates to supervisors and team leaders

  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues on design and distribution, as needed

  • Assist with management of annual editorial calendar, as needed

  • Assist with creating and scheduling department email newsletters and communications, as needed

  • Other responsibilities as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A number of years experience creating market-facing thought leadership content, particularly for business audiences, preferably in the professional services arena

  • Professional services experience a plus

  • Proven skill and experience with written communication and editing

  • Knowledge of AP style and/or AP business style

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal daily oversight

  • Project management/leadership experience with proven ability to organize multiple contributors and other project components in a timely manner

  • Ability to present research topics and their meaningful relationship to market activities and opportunities

  • Experience using social media and other digital outlets to support content distribution strategies

  • Highly detail oriented and ability to ensure quality assurance of content

  • Ability to interact professionally with leaders and practitioners at all levels

  • Bachelor’s degree in writing, communication, media or related area

  • Second degree in business administration or area of specialization, preferred

  • Motivated by constant learning and desire to build something meaningful

  • Entrepreneurial problem solver with ability to manage cross-team initiatives

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Experienced in developing graphics, infographics, audio, video or other multimedia forms in support of written content or to communicate content, a plus

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications

  • Experience with publishing software such as Adobe or other content creation software is a plus

  • Fluent English speaker and writer, other European languages are desirable
