Job Description & Summary

A career within Financial Risk and Regulatory services, will provide you with the opportunity to help business leaders embed a proactive and dynamic risk management capability and mind set into their corporate business practices. From strategy through to implementation, we help put in place people,
processes and technology so they can leverage financial risk management to identify new opportunities and pursue success as smoothly, systematically and sustainably as possible in the face of changing markets, technologies and competition.

Our Financial Services (‘FS’) Consulting team is a team of over 80 professionals with a variety of backgrounds and experience across the insurance, banking, Regulation and asset & wealth management (AWM) sectors. Our team has a range of skills, spanning strategic, operational and specialist regulatory experience to solve sophisticated problems for our clients, many of whom are global financial institutions. This team is part of the wider Consulting team of 450 people, who work in PwC Ireland’s Advisory Line of Service.

Our clients include well-known local and global financial institutions, who have engaged our team to help with:

  • Large scale transformation programmes, including Managed Change programmes

  • Becoming Fit-for-Growth, through the alignment of corporate strategy with improvement initiatives (e.g. cost optimisation)

  • Operating model redesign, operational effectiveness and efficiency

  • Location strategy, including outsourcing operations and oversight arrangements

  • Implementing new regulations and ongoing regulatory compliance

  • Governance and risk management projects

  • Effectively managing large scale remediation programmes

  • Transaction implementation and off-boarding support

  • On-boarding new books of business

  • Technological optimisation and enhancements

  • Digital technologies and disruption, artificial intelligence and robotics

For many of the above projects we work collaboratively with our colleagues across the wider Consulting team, who have specialist skills in: strategy; data & analytics; cyber security; technology; digital; operational effectiveness; people & organisations; project & programme management; and financial effectiveness. In addition, given the global reach of many of our clients, we also work collaboratively with our global PwC network to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients.

As part of the FS Consulting team you will have the opportunity to work with like-minded, hard-working individuals as well as collaborating with colleagues from the wider Consulting team and global PwC network. Our multi-disciplinary teams are structured to best meet our clients’ requirements, with appropriate skills, expertise and levels ranging from in-depth technical knowledge through to hands-on practical experience.

Successful candidates will have experience in a specific FS industry sub-sector (e.g. insurance, banking or AWM), will demonstrate an inner drive to deliver the best outcomes for our clients, will collaborate effectively within our team and use their experience and skills to provide best-in-class services to our clients. The scale of potential growth within the FS sector in Ireland due to macroeconomic events presents a significant opportunity for trusted advisers that partner with their clients to proactively respond to the challenges ahead; we are looking for candidates that can help our FS team to be the trusted advisor of choice amongst clients.

Our FS Consulting Team recognise the importance of individual and team development and support this through on the job coaching, peer learning as well as formal training programmes at all grades. In a dynamic sector such as FS, we also engage globally and locally in strategic internal practice development initiatives, to ensure we remain current and familiar with relevant industry trends and issues.

At PwC, we celebrate talents from all backgrounds and welcome applications from people who identify as disabled, neurodivergent, or who live with other long-term conditions. We want our candidates to have every opportunity to thrive in our recruitment process, to perform crucial job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Therefore, we welcome the opportunity to discuss with candidates any barriers we can remove, or adjustments we can make to appropriately adapt our process fairly and support them to perform at their best. Please contact us to request any accommodations.
