A career within Finance Consulting services, will provide the opportunity to work alongside CEOs, CFOs, controllers and treasurers to optimise the structure of their finance functions and improve their contribution to the business. We support our clients by addressing the challenges of achieving appropriate standards of control, efficient back office opportunities and support to the business through insight and challenge.

The work you do will be all about helping organisations work smarter and grow faster. You will work with household names in a diverse range of industries - from indigenous Irish firms, national and international high-street banks to multinational FMCG companies.


Our assignments range from small sized teams on short term assignments to large teams on multi-year transformational programmes. Teams work collaboratively with significant involvement of Partners and Directors.


Typically you will be involved in

  • Scoping engagements by interviewing clients, gathering relevant data and comparing it with appropriate benchmarks

  • Developing approaches and plans to address organisation opportunities and issues

  • Leading consulting and client work-stream teams that deliver results

  • Providing programme management support to ensure the operational initiative achieves its objectives

  • Capturing the lessons learned to support the development of intellectual capital

  • Requirement to travel overseas on assignment from time to time

About Financial Effectiveness

Reducing complexity, simplifying the business model, understanding key value drivers in the business and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of finance functions are challenges being faced by senior finance professionals worldwide. Within the financial effectiveness group, we work with clients across a broad range of sectors to provide innovative viewpoints, independent advice, project management skills and support in developing solutions which will help our clients to address these issues. We specialise in the areas of Enterprise Performance Management, Shared Services, Finance Operating Model Design and Implementation and Bench-marking.


Experience Required:

  • 4 years in a Finance role in industry or 3 years in a big 4 audit/consulting role

  • Experience of working in and / or with large scale organisations in the Finance field

  • Experience in delivering projects in the Finance area (for example Shared Services, Outsourcing Process, Finance Process Design and/or Optimisation)

  • Experience of managing change in the Finance area

  • Excellent understanding of general business practices

  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in managing a team of resources on multiple assignments running simultaneously

  • Experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff

  • Comprehensive reporting and presentation skills essential (strong Powerpoint experience essential)

  • Experience in analysing data (strong Excel experience essential)

  • Experience in implementation or using Finance Systems (ie ERP, for example SAP, Oracle and related BI tools)
