DevOps Strategy Consultant

We’re looking for talented DevOps Strategy Consultants who are looking to take the next step in their career to join our growing Consulting team.

As a DevOps Strategy Consultant, you will advise senior clients on their DevOps strategy, helping them to make the right development decisions for their business. You will demonstrate the business value that DevOps brings across the standard CALMS framework:

• Culture - Ensure DevOps has Executive Sponsorship rather than just technical
• Automation - Ensure fast and consistency changes can be deployed to live
• Lean - Reduce WIP and ensure small batch sizes
• Monitoring - Select appropriate business and technical KPI’s
• Share - Learn from both successes and failures

What you’ll do

As DevOps Strategy Consultant, you will also be part of the wider DevOps team to ensure that all work is delivered to an appropriate quality, that the right technical input has been provided and also that bid responses have an innovative technical element.
You’ll also be involved in the sales, pre-sales and market engagement processes, including: meeting new and existing clients; presenting at conferences; writing articles and more. 

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring extensive experience gained through a combination of industry and consulting roles. You will be able to develop and strengthen peer-to-peer level relationships at all levels with our clients.

You’ll need to be a team player and be able to leave your ego at the door. You’ll recognise that BJSS is made up of many skilled technologists and be self-aware enough to know when to lead and when to listen.

You’ll have the following experience and personal attributes, with the ability to:

• Perform DevOps assessments to assess current capability
• Create high level principles and strategic direction
• Prioritise appropriate focus areas based on cost and value
• Co-create actionable roadmaps for clients to follow
• Understand how DevOps and ITIL can integrate
• Appreciate that tooling is far from a magic bullet but understand the pros and cons of the market
• Articulate BJSS’s DevOps Value proposition
• Ensure BJSS has the capability to deliver on the proposition
• Develop thought-leadership in both written and verbal environments
• Bring real word experience and insight including common gotchas
