Bringing Ingenuity to Life

We are an innovation and transformation consultancy that believes in the power of ingenuity to build a positive-human future in a technology-driven world. Our diverse teams of experts combine innovative thinking with breakthrough-technologies to progress further, faster.

With a global network of FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 clients, we offer you unrivalled opportunities for growth and the freedom to excel. Combining strategies, technologies and innovation, we turn complexity to opportunity and deliver enduring results, enabling you to build a lasting career.

Isn’t it time you joined us?

Become part of the Team

At PA, we create novel products for our clients. Recent years have seen significant growth in IoT and Industrial IoT design briefs with our clients creating new businesses or transforming existing ones based on our innovations. Projects to date have ranged from consumer-focussed environmental sensors to mesh networked industrial devices. We are looking for innovative design engineers to join our team and be part of our continued growth in this sector.

You will work in multidisciplinary teams, applying your skills to diverse and often unique design briefs. In doing so, you will gain exposure to a wide range of applications across Consumer, Healthcare, Industrial and Defence and Security sectors, each bringing new challenges and learning opportunities.

This role would suit an individual with a strong interest in both electronics and embedded software and the desire to continue to develop both skill sets.

What we're looking for

Our projects often begin with an abstract brief. Part of this role is to take this abstract brief and to produce an elegant, realizable design before moving on to implementation. We look for people who are able to carry out and document this ‘system thinking’ as well as implement designs – all to a high standard.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate strong electronic design skills. You will be familiar with producing schematic designs centred around 16 and 32-bit microcontrollers and SoCs with a supporting cast of sensors, RF modules and power management. Although we are not seeking an RF specialist, we would expect you to possess a good understanding of the challenges that working with RF can present.

Strong embedded software skills are equally important. You will be comfortable architecting and developing software for bare-metal and embedded RTOS-based platforms, usually in C or C++, and working at a low-level with platform peripherals. IoT applications often present power and performance challenges requiring a deep understanding of the platform, as well as a degree of cunning.

Consultancy brings the opportunity to experience new challenges, so we are looking for individuals who will relish this as well as make use of their core skills.

We expect candidates to have gained a good degree in a relevant subject from a leading university as well as the strong interpersonal skills required for a successful career in consultancy. A proportion of our work is within the defence and security sector so candidates would ideally be willing and able to gain UK security clearance.

Benefits

• Private medical insurance
• Travel allowance
• 25 days annual leave with the opportunity to buy 5 additional days
• Company pension scheme
• Annual performance-based bonus
• Life and Income protection insurance
• Tax efficient benefits (cycle to work, give as you earn)
• Additional optional benefits (Dental, critical illness, spouse/partner life assurance)
