Overview of the Data Analytics Team

The A&M Data Analytics team consists of 13 people and they are based mainly in London, with growing resource in Germany. They support a number of A&M business units including: Corporate Transformation Services, Private Equity Performance Improvement, Restructuring, Taxand and Dispute and Investigations. The Data Analytics team has grown in revenue and profile in recent years and is embedded into A&M’s client work. Typical projects include; Financial Analytics (e.g. working capital, SKU profitability), Operational Analytics (e.g. organisation optimisation, offshoring analysis, sales force effectiveness) and Customer Analytics (e.g. customer profitability, segmentation)

Overview of the EMEA Data Analytics Lead Role

The key focus of the role is to drive the Data Analytics practice forward, increase project related billings, develop the data analytics capability and build a European wide practice. The Data Analytics Team Lead will be responsible for data analysts, data engineers and data scientists – a key challenge going forwards will be to recruit and build this group to further grow project scope & billings.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop data analytics pipeline and grow project related billings year on year (driven by building strong working relationships with core A&M service lines and developing direct sales)

    • Continue to develop clear value added propositions for clients, leading product and service innovation

    • Proactively develop relationships with colleagues in other EMEA services lines and experts in other offices, working together to identify new clients and commercial opportunities

    • Build and strengthen existing network, identifying opportunities to sell the portfolio of A&M’s services

    • Generate additional income across all EMEA practice areas through product innovation

    • Engagement Lead on complex Data Analytic projects

  • Grow the Data Analytics team, recruiting the right balance of skill sets required to deliver client work across service lines

    • Technical leadership to design, upskill and recruit the appropriate skill profiles to deliver all types of Data Analytics solutions across EMEA services lines

    • Lead cultural development of the group

    • Create the opportunity for success and enable team members to develop their technical and consulting skills

Key Experience required:

  • Senior leadership within data analytics in a consulting environment and ideally proven experience in practice development

    • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in data analytics across a range of areas including financial, operational and customer analytics

    • Strong experience selling to clients externally (ideally 5 years + experience)

    • Experience of leading a growth business, setting a clear market strategy and delivering

  • Strong Experience using data analytics to drive financial benefits (e.g. revenue growth, cost reduction, working capital improvements)

  • Strong Experience of managing teams with SQL, Tableau, R and Python Skills

  • Strong personal skills to develop internal relationships

  • Experience of managing data analytics teams of 20+ people

  • Good experience of working with different cultures and working across multiple countries
