The Marketing Director, EMEA reports operationally to the EMEA MD Marketing Committee & COO, whose business priorities are guided by the firm’s European Executive Committee, and also strategically and tactically into A&M’s global CMO in NY for brand, PR, campaign, digital, communications and systems management. A&M seeks a seasoned B2B marketing professional who can succeed in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and non-bureaucratic atmosphere. We place a premium on smart execution, collaboration and results.  This role will be responsible for supporting and advising the business units, as well as managing the European/UK corporate marketing team and infrastructure of services and tools. 

This marketing professional will have experience building consensus with disparate groups of Partners during a period of rapid growth and transformation.  A bachelor’s degree is required with a number of years of experience in progressively responsible senior marketing management roles, an appreciation for and experience working in culturally diverse settings and a demonstrated competency in planning, executing, managing and measuring marketing campaigns with multiple components. Experience with marketing technology systems, databases, and social media is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively create and maintain strong internal relationships with business leaders in A&M’s London and European offices and the 10 industry groups. These are defined ultimately as “the internal clients”. Learn about the business lines and contribute ideas to help monetize the practices.

  • Design, plan and execute marketing and communications programs that support business and go-to-market objectives, while generating cross-selling opportunities and identifying qualified leads that drive new business.

  • Work with the CMO to enact the global branding plan and enforce global messaging and communications across the business units and geographies.

  • Assist in developing “issues-based” and “industry content” that feed insights to our clients and prospects.

  • Work with global marketing team to use firm-wide marketing and knowledge management tools (Salesforce, Pardot, Project Management software, Social Media Dashboards, etc.) and processes for continued growth. Educate the EMEA leaders about the data available to help us make more informed decisions about all BD and Marketing spend.

  • Ensure on-time and on-budget execution of plans with strong attention to follow-through and detail. KPIs will be implemented. Must be comfortable doing administrative work including time keeping and project management. There is little administrative support.

  • Work with embedded A&M Relationship and BD Managers in the US and in other geographies to develop geographic, service line and industry direct marketing programs and events in other offices.

  • Work closely with Global marketing team members in NY and other US offices to ensure timely execution of all campaigns and marketing activities. Comfort with all technologies to ensure continuous communication and delivery of work while work-from-home is the norm.

  • When required, work with global corporate marketing third-party vendors and PR Agencies in the UK, Europe and US to assist in the planning and execution of events, training and other marketing related activities.

  • Coordinate and Direct activities of external PR agencies in concert with CMO and the Senior Director of Public Relations in NY. Arrange regular meetings between agency leads and SBU leaders and create opportunities for our professionals to be in regular contact with the press. Create a platform where our SBU leaders are the “go to experts” in their respective fields.

  • Working with Global Corporate Marketing, build a templated robust case study and presentation library for cross-sharing in concert with practice teams and internal KM teams as appropriate.

  • Ensure that all regional and industry marketing and business development tools and collateral are brand compliant and consistent. This includes but is not limited to: pitch decks, leave behinds, email campaigns, logos, Social Media posts, press releases, etc.

  • Enforce current branding and messaging guidelines through all internal and external marketing channels.

  • Leverage market research, business intelligence and competitive intelligence data analysis to proactively formulate pan European action plans by market and client specific business development priorities.

  • Develop relationships with practice, industry and country leaders.

  • Actively manage and participate when possible in events to develop a keen understanding of the A&M client base.

  • Manage, mentor and develop UK/European marketing staff; ensure that all functional resources are in alignment with the firm’s global vision and strategic objectives and capable of performing at the highest level of quality, consistency and efficiency.

Marketing Skills & Experience:

  • A number of years broad based and relevant senior marketing experience in a professional services environment

  • Small team management, ideally in B2B / professional services marketing

  • Demonstrated success in delivering an effective variety of channel marketing programs

  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a matrix team and exercise strong judgment whether as a team leader, influencer or single contributor

  • Ability to plan, manage, execute and measure effectiveness and ROI of priority marketing plans

  • Able to produce results under tight deadlines

  • Creative, with hands-on experience working with digital platforms

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

  • Degree qualified

  • Multi-lingual desired. French, German, Spanish or Dutch ideal

  • Experience working with Americans & Europeans and reporting into a non-UK based leader desired
