Become part of the Team

PA Consulting’s technology centre in Melbourn has an enviable fabrication facility with workshops for machining, plastics, electronics and additive manufacturing (3D printing).  If you can think of it, we can probably make it in-house.  These workshops are populated by a team of highly skilled technicians who work closely with our engineers and scientists who turn innovative designs into test rigs and prototypes.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a technician that has strong machining skills but ideally also has experience/interests in other fabrication techniques.

Essential skills

  • Manual milling & turning to tight tolerances in a wide range of materials, including aluminium alloys, plastics and stainless steel.
  • CNC Milling & turning, ideally on Haas mills using Fanuc controllers.
  • CAD experience, preferably Solidworks.
  • Computer literacy

Desirable skills

  • Wire erosion and Die Sinking.
  • 3D printing experience, ideally in SLA.
  • Design & manufacture of test rigs and mould tools.
  • Machine building.
  • Pneumatic/electropneumatic experience.

This role would suit an experienced technician who is probably craving the sheer variety of projects and tools they will get exposure to by working for a technology consultancy.  PA’s Technology Centre is an excellent environment to not only ply your trade but also develop it:

• Private medical insurance
• Interest free season ticket loan
• 25 days annual leave with the opportunity to buy 5 additional days
• Company pension scheme
• Annual performance-based bonus
• Life and Income protection insurance
• Tax efficient benefits (cycle to work, give as you earn)
• Additional optional benefits (Dental, critical illness, spouse/partner life assurance)
