As part of a growth plan in Europe, Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to join our growing European team and deliver marketing programmes in the UK and major European markets. The successful candidate will have lead responsibility for designated teams within Europe and an opportunity to work with senior leaders to shape marketing activities and make a difference to the firm.

Based in London and working with the UK and Europe marketing team, alongside the firm-wide NY based global marketing team, this is an exciting and broad-reaching role which will connect with multiple areas of the business and staff at all levels.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has solid experience of external marketing and internal communications with the ability to drive both internal employee engagement and external brand awareness. He/she will combine the ability to give sound strategic advice to partner and internal clients with the knowledge and enthusiasm for delivering integrated campaigns that will expand A&M’s brand visibility across UK and Europe. The role demands a results-focused manager with strong project management skills and a passion for delivering effective projects on time and on budget.

Scope of job

  • The successful individual will work closely with and report to the Director of Marketing, UK and Europe helping to shape and implement a multi-faceted marketing strategy to meet the needs of a fast paced, entrepreneurial professional services environment
  • The Marketing manager will sit in the London-based European marketing team and work closely with:
    • Business unit partners and teams
    • Global Marketing team
    • Operations and shared services teams
  • The marketing manager will also play a key role in driving internal communications within the European practice

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans across UK and Europe for specific business units
  • Help build the A&M brand through a consistent approach with all marketing, pitch and communications materials
  • Work as a key member of the European marketing team to devise and deliver end-to-end marketing campaigns using a range of marketing methods, particularly digital
  • Help to manage the activities of A&M’s network of PR agencies and assist in executing the firm’s communications requirements to enhance its reputation
  • Measure the effectiveness of campaigns on an ongoing basis and make recommendations to review and amend the strategy as appropriate
  • Be responsible with the rest of the team for the implementation of an internal communications plan for A&M in Europe
  • Support on overall global corporate marketing initiatives including development of overall collateral and major events

  • N.B. The post holder will be working in a developing environment and he/she will therefore be expected to undertake other appropriate duties as required for the effective operation of A&M.

Candidate requirements

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • A number of years B2B marketing experience with a couple of years in professional services.
  • Legal, accounting or consulting background an advantage

Experience

  • Substantial marketing and internal communications experience in professional services organisations with geographically dispersed staff
  • Experience of developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies and measuring their effectiveness
  • Experience of advising senior business leaders on marketing and communications issues
  • Project management experience, involving multiple stakeholders, from start to finish
  • Experience of successfully influencing staff at all levels within an organisation
  • Experience of writing for a variety of audiences
  • Well-versed in digital communications and social media

Knowledge and skills

  • Self-starter and proactive in driving action; able to work on own initiative
  • Hands-on, analytical, results and execution-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of using tools such as Salesforce /CRM systems and Pardot. Experience with Social Media tools and analytics. Willingness to provide practical support in increasing usage.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of professional services
  • Influencing and diplomacy skills
  • Additional European languages an advantage
