Role Summary

Do you have experience in realising the value proposition for a technology platform?

Our client, a Maritime Technology Start up, is developing software for the Commercial Maritime Industry which will enable shipping companies to improve the management of their fleets. This is a great opportunnity to change the way the Maritime Industry works and replace outdated legacy technology. They are looking for a Value realisation consultant to create the financial model and business case for their clients. The consultant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent quantitative analysis, process, and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience in pre and post sales modelling/value modelling for software products
  • Relevant experience in Finance, Strategy Consulting, or other analytical roles preferably with shipping or other proxy induistries.

This role is about working with customers Go-to-Market and Product teams, developing a nd presenting compelling value propositions, proposals, and business cases around the adoption of a new technology platform. This is a new role and the client is looking for someone with experience and vision that can define and drive this new capability.

Key Accountabilities

Working closely with the Go-to-Market and Product teams on crucial early stage customer accounts.

Activities will include:

  • Identify, prioritize and quantify key business drivers to understand how solutions will help customers
  • Research customer business processes and market trends within shipping companies and fleet types and feed back to Product teams
  • Identify target operational and financial metrics impacted by solutions
  • Use these metrics to develop ROI / Total Cost of Ownership models to quantify the realized value of the platform
  • Guide the Go-to-Market team on the scope and types of data/discovery needed to prove value realization
  • Craft and deliver executive level presentations to CxOs and support qualitative and quantitative analysis for target customers

Mandatory Requirements

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • 3+ years experience with pre-sales and/or post-sales business value modelling with excellent quantitative analysis and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience with Modelling the impact of new software products (for eg Salesforce, SAP or Oracle ERP solutions) and their impact on operations.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Tier 1 Consulting or Professional Service Firms for eg shipping (or proxy industries like aerospace, logistics, freight forwarding, oil and gas, mining, property.)

Optional Requirements

It will also be advantageous if you have:

  • A BA/BSc degree from a top university in a quantitative field (e.g. business, finance, economics, math, engineering, marketing, or related areas).
