A&M Taxand UK has ambition to build on the successes of the first 10 years of its existence and is looking to grow its team and subject matter expertise. It is hiring across all levels and specialisms within tax.

We are looking for an individual to join our M&A tax function which currently comprises of team of nine.  Our clients are primarily private equity houses although we do have corporate clients for whom we perform M&A work. The individual should have a solid background in private equity and M&A tax. The primary responsibilities would be private equity M&A work although we also provide general tax services to corporate clients who are likely to be portfolio companies of private equity funds.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Performing tax due diligence on target businesses located in the UK and globally:
    • Producing final draft due diligence reports ready for partner or senior director review
    • Liaising with tax specialists in other areas
    • Managing UK and global Taxand teams
    • Identifying and dealing with areas of risk
  • Providing advice in respect of structuring acquisitions:
    • Design and preparation of acquisition steps reports
    • Incorporating tax structuring tax advice from other jurisdictions
  • Providing clients with ad-hoc advice on company reorganisations and restructuring activities
  • Identifying post deal opportunities during the M&A process and subsequently pursuing them, liaising with other tax specialists as required

Other responsibilities:

  • Developing and coaching more junior members of the M&A team
  • Providing advice regarding tax technical issues in the UK and globally
  • Undertaking technical research projects
  • Involved in business development and marketing initiatives

Qualifications:

  • ACA or ICAS qualified with a minimum of 8 years corporate tax compliance or advisory experience, with ideally 5 years being private equity M&A experience
  • You will have gained your ACA and/or CTA qualifications and training in a Big Four or Top Tier Firm
  • Relevant/appropriate tax experience - we can only consider candidates with considerable UK Tax experience for this role.
