Senior Director - Operational Restructuring
Companies, investors, lenders and government entities around the world turn to Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) when conventional approaches are not enough to activate change and achieve results.
Privately-held since 1983, A&M is a leading global professional services firm that delivers performance improvement, turnaround management and business advisory services to organizations seeking to transform operations, catapult growth and accelerate results through decisive action. Our senior professionals are experienced operators, world-class consultants and industry veterans who draw upon the firm's restructuring heritage to help leaders turn change into a strategic business asset, manage risk and unlock value at every stage.
When action matters, find us at www.alvarezandmarsal.com.
Our heritage is restructuring, but for over 30 years we have grown from a premier restructuring boutique to a global consulting firm with more than $1 billion in revenues. Over the course of time we have experienced the shifts in the various regulatory environments around the world. Establishing a presence in Europe nearly 15 years ago, the European business now has some 600 staff in a broad range of professional services including: Corporate Transformation, Financial Institutions Advisory, Tax and Disputes and Investigation Services as well as a market leading Private Equity route to market servicing Transaction Advisory and Portfolio Company Performance Improvement.
The regulatory changes impacting audit practices in the U.K. and Europe are having a significant impact on the Restructuring practices of the Big 4 accounting firms which create an obstacle for the practitioners to fully realize their potential. We believe that the beneficiaries of the disruption will be non-audit consulting firms such as Alvarez & Marsal.
Operational Restructuring, Corporate Transformation
Through our Transformation team, A&M offers critical assistance to companies with underperforming assets which are a drain on earnings and cash flow, distracts management, and erodes employee, customer and shareholder confidence. We help clients identify and quantify opportunities to unlock shareholder value by divesting and/or improving under-performing and non-core business units or assets. Working directly with company management, A&M helps stabilise financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital improvements. A&M’s involvement reassures creditors that the company is taking important steps to address its problems and maximise its value.
Clients call us when they need to implement step-change, sustainable cost reductions that will leave their organizations leaner, stronger and more agile in order to compete in a disrupted environment and fuel future growth. In addition, specific events can trigger the need for an objective perspective of a company’s performance, such as missed earning projections, lacklustre topline growth, performance gaps versus competitors or the industry or, financial report restatements or investigations. Starting with a rapid result assessment, we identify a portfolio of high impact opportunities to improve EBITDA and cash flow across the enterprise, ranging from quick wins to the ‘tough calls’ that deliver transformational results. In these instances, the services of our Transformation team include:
