Who we are looking for

In response to strong business growth, our Finance Consulting practice is expanding. We work with our clients to help transform their Finance functions, to respond to the changing needs and expectations of the business and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of finance operations whilst addressing the ever-increasing challenges of new regulatory requirements.

Our Finance Consulting group provides the knowledge and experience our clients seek to drive this change, whether through automating their processes to reduce costs, enabling them to add greater strategic insights to business decision making, helping them to operate and integrate leading Finance technology solutions or even restructuring their resource requirements by introducing the notion of software robots.

We provide full lifecycle support to CFO's – from strategy through to execution – covering Finance function vision & target operating model definition, design support including advising on optimal organisation, process and systems design and providing end-to-end support for subsequent implementation.

We are currently seeking a Senior Associate with a background in finance transformation and the curiosity to develop their understanding of the key trends impacting our clients.


About the role

You will be expected to primarily work on client engagements, contributing to and leading finance change projects (‘delivery’), although you will also spend time supporting the development of operational finance solutions (‘development’).

In particular you will be expected to be responsible for:

  • Working alongside Finance and broader PwC and client teams in the delivery of key elements of our clients’ projects;

  • Providing finance specific and general transformation advice to clients on core areas of Operational Finance;

  • Identifying further service opportunities, while client side, based on good understanding of the client’s needs, combined with a knowledge of PwC's capabilities.

  • Contributing to our continued thought leadership around Finance function design, processes, policies, strategy, reporting and systems

Essential skills & experience:

  • Good understanding of the workings of the Finance function, and key issues and challenges faced, with relevant experience from global or FTSE 250 organisations

  • Good comprehension of core finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R)

  • Experience of working on complex Finance change/ process improvement projects

  • Good understanding and knowledge of the Finance function and the key issues and challenges;

  • Educated to degree level plus either formal accounting qualification or equivalent understanding of accounting principles.


Desirable skills & experience:

  • Understanding of back office transformation approaches outside of pure finance such as HR, IT or Procurement transformation

  • Proficiency and solid technical knowledge in one or all of the following areas

    • Robotics Process Automation (RPA) and/or Artificial Intelligence knowledge and awareness as it applies to the Finance function

    • Finance Core ERP Technology (e.g. SAP, Oracle)

    • Cloud Finance solutions (e.g. S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud, Workday)

    • Specialist or industry specific Finance Process knowledge (P2P, O2C, R2R)

  • Used a Lean approach to process / cost optimisation;

  • Used benchmarking techniques and data
