About Front Office Transformation Strategy

Front office transformation strategy is how we support our clients to deliver profitable revenue growth and improved business outcomes through commercial excellence. In fast-paced changing digital markets, it is critical for our clients to develop and adopt the right strategies to respond to market disruption, deal with competitive intensity and maximise the value they create for their customers, employees and shareholders.

Our clients come to us for help with many aspects of front office transformation strategy. These include shaping and executing organic revenue growth strategies; building in-depth customer insight and market segmentation approaches; creating innovative product portfolio and pricing strategies; increasing the effectiveness of sales teams, marketing and distribution channels; designing optimal customer experiences across physical and digital channels; and developing frameworks and investment cases for deploying emerging technology and analytics in front-office functions.

About the role

As a Senior Manager in Strategy& specialising in Front Office Transformation Strategy, you will be a leading thought-partner to clients, solving problems and running the day-to-day activities of client engagements. You will have a focus on high-quality and effective delivery and complex problem solving, building senior client relationships, and managing the personal development of others. You will be supported by Directors and Partners, while providing direction for Managers and Senior Associates on your team. Working with consultants from across our global offices, you will have the opportunity to interact with leading international clients across a range of industries.

As a Senior Manager, you will mentor and act as a career coach for other Strategy& consultants, engage with the wider PwC network globally, and participate in thought leadership and building new initiatives to grow and develop our business. Strategy& offers in-depth training and will support your development throughout your career, using a combination of formal training programs and on-the-job feedback learning.

Key Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop in-depth understanding of client strategic business opportunities and challenges to build productive and lasting client relationships.

  • Manage client strategy assignments and strategy work streams in larger transformation settings. Structure project work for your teams and drive each assignment to a successful conclusion.

  • Direct quantitative and qualitative strategic analysis and lead the development of high quality, persuasive and concise recommendations for executive audiences. Quality assure project analysis and recommendations in conjunction with Directors and Partners.

  • Lead and support other Strategy& team members during each project and identify opportunities for them to improve their skills and capabilities.

  • Build productive and lasting relationships across the PwC Network and be seen as a valued member of the office community – proactive contribution to internal, firm-building activities.

Requirements

  • Highly experienced strategist with a clear record of achievement in strategic transformation, either with a leading strategy consulting firm or within an internal consulting role in a corporate environment.

  • Strong relationship skills and oral and written communication skills, with the ability and flexibility to operate successfully at all levels from C-suite to operational ‘shop-floor’.

  • Current industry knowledge and insight in one or more of Retail, FMCG, and TMT. Experience can be across either B2C or B2B environments with a preference for some exposure to both.Capable of scoping and delivering complex end-to-end strategy projects, strong leadership skills and able to manage functionally, geographically and culturally diverse teams.

  • A strong team player with empathy, humility and dedication to joint success and shared development

  • Intellectually curious, creative thinker and a highly motivated self-starter

  • Strong problem solving skills, taking a structured, hypothesis driven approach

  • Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with quantitative data and detailed numerical analysis

  • Knowledge and understanding of the landscape of cloud technology underpinning front-office excellence, and the ability to work productively with and alongside PwC technology transformation architects.

  • Extensive experience and functional knowledge in the following areas
    - Developing organic revenue growth and commercial excellence strategies
    - Creating customer insight and identifying market segment opportunities
    - Rationalising product portfolios and structuring marketable services, bundles and products
    - Developing pricing strategies and commercial opportunities through pricing improvement
    - Transforming sales and marketing effectiveness, understanding relevant metrics and benchmarks
    - Defining and designing customer experiences and loyalty/satisfaction improvements
    - Field service and customer service optimisation
    - Digital proposition development
    - Deployment of emerging technology and analytics capability in front-office functions
