A&M Taxand UK has ambition to build on the successes of the first 10 years of its existence, and is looking to grow its team and subject matter expertise. It is hiring across all levels and specialisms within tax.

The international corporate tax team delivers a broad spectrum of corporate and international tax work, working closely with the transfer pricing, indirect tax and private equity teams.  There is, of course, some compliance (e.g. tax returns, year-end disclosures and R&D claims) but no audit work.  Most of the effort is spent in advice, planning, structuring, and corporate M&A support such as due diligence.  Advisory projects include devising the holding structure and step plan for a UK group investing in power generation in Italy, determining application of diverted profits tax to captive insurance arrangements, advising on limiting impact of hybrid rules on IP holding structure, migrating activity into a branch, advising a regulator on impact of tax changes, determining extent of interest restrictions under new rules, etc.  Clients range from FTSE100 multinationals to smaller private equity owned groups.

A&M Taxand is seeking to recruit an Associate (comparable to a recently qualified Assistant Manager at a Big4 practice) in the corporate international team to provide support in the delivery of work to its rapidly expanding multinational client base.


  • Providing advice regarding complex tax technical issues in UK and international corporate tax
  • Joining clients on-site ensuring the successful delivery of projects and hands-on involvement in providing solutions to client’s corporate tax challenges
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax provisions and computations
  • Undertaking technical research projects
  • Managing junior resource and assisting with their development within the team
  • Involved in business development and marketing initiatives
  • Liaising with Taxand across the globe and coordinating international advice on client issues

Qualifications and competencies:

  • ICAEW or ICAS qualified (ATT or CTA in addition is advantageous)
  • UK corporate tax compliance and advisory experience
  • Knowledge of managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client communication
  • Excellent research skills and high aptitude with numbers
  • Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships and to manage a range of stakeholders
  • Willingness to help train more junior members of the team
