A&M’s Risk Advisory Services’ London-based practice provides a full range of risk consulting services to corporates and insurers as well as investors around the globe.  Our aim is to improve performance within healthy, underperforming and/or troubled organisations by best utilising our efficient, highly experienced teams who are accustomed to solving complex problems and delivering rapid results.  Unlike other advisors, A&M brings the proven capability to implement solutions in support of urgent business transformations and restructurings. 

Data-driven analytics is a key component of our service throughout the lifecycle of a project, helping our clients harnessing the power of data to make better decisions.  We are looking to build the Risk Advisory team with an experienced Analyst/Associate with advanced practical skills in the data mining, predictive modelling and risk quantification fields as well as excellent client facing skills.     

Responsibilities

The Associate’s responsibilities within the Risk Advisory practice will include:

  • Quickly understand challenging problems and rapidly changing situations to enable you to support developing innovative solutions around risk taking and risk transfer, decision analysis and streamlining of governance processes for our global clients.
  • Support building strong, trusted, long term relationships with key stakeholders in major corporates and insurance companies through high quality work within agreed timelines.
  • Proactively contribute to business development activities including the creation of client pitches, presentations and proposals.
  • Continuously keep abreast of industry developments, best practice and regulation.
  • Identifying and researching potential commercial opportunities within target markets
  • Developing marketing materials in support of new business development  
  • Researching and monitoring developments in emerging risks and risk management methodologies
  • Work with experts at all levels across our practices to deliver client projects through the management of multiple simultaneous analytical tasks including operational, financial, statistical and other quantitative analysis, manipulation and management of large datasets and preparing reports. To include but not limited to:
    • Cause and effects analysis
    • Risk tolerance calculations
    • Risk and insurance optimization
    • Modelling EBITDA/cash flow at risk

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, statistics, mathematics or physics
  • Master’s level education preferred
  • Professional risk management and insurance designations desirable
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience – preferably from professional services or publicly listed organisations with global operations
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter, driven to succeed and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.  The individual will be insightful, decisive and a critical thinker. Furthermore, the individual will be able to work well on teams however will possess the knowledge and maturity to work on challenging tasks and communicate with client representatives independently.  Specific characteristics include:
    • Entrepreneurial spirit
    • Highly analytical mind-set and passion for solving complex problems
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Must have strong project management and risk management skills
    • Ability to support verbal presentations to "C" level executives
    • Professional in style and demeanour / exercises good judgment
    • Motivated, effective in a fast paced culture
  • Additional European language advantageous
