A&M’s Risk Advisory Services’ London-based practice provides a full range of risk consulting services to corporates and insurers as well as investors around the globe.  Our aim is to improve performance within healthy, underperforming and/or troubled organisations by best utilising our efficient, highly experienced teams who are accustomed to solving complex problems and delivering rapid results.  Unlike other advisors, A&M brings the proven capability to implement solutions in support of urgent business transformations and restructurings. 

Data-driven analytics is a key component of our service throughout the lifecycle of a project, helping our clients harnessing the power of data to make better decisions.  We are looking to build the Risk Advisory team with an experienced Senior Associate/Senior Consultant with proven skills in implementing advanced risk management capabilities and supporting technologies, leveraging risk quantification methods to model complex risk exposures as well as facilitating C-level client workshops and building high quality Board reports.

Responsibilities

The Senior Associate’s responsibilities within the Risk Advisory practice will include:

  • Quickly scope and analyse challenging problems in rapidly changing situations to enable the development of innovative solutions around risk-based strategic planning and capital allocation, risk transfer, risk technology and streamlining of governance processes for our global clients.
  • Build strong, trusted, long term relationships with key stakeholders in major corporates and insurance companies.
  • Continuously keep abreast of industry developments, best practice and regulation to form meaningful insights to the benefit of colleagues and clients.
  • Take initiative in identifying commercial opportunities within target markets
  • Managing thought leadership initiatives and development of marketing materials in support of new business development  
  • Proactively contribute to business development activities including leading the creation of client pitches, presentations and proposals.
  • Take ownership of the continuous improvement of our market leading risk management methodologies
  • Work with experts at all levels across our practices to deliver client projects through the management of multiple workstreams and small projects including project planning, data gathering, analysis and management of large datasets, interview and workshop facilitation, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and preparing reports. To include but not limited to:
    • Cause and effects analysis
    • Scenario analysis
    • Decision tree analysis
    • Risk tolerance calculations
    • Risk and insurance optimization
    • Modelling EBITDA/cash flow at risk
    • System requirements analysis and business case development

Requirements

  • Master's degree in finance, strategy, engineering, statistics, mathematics or physics
  • Formal qualifications from a recognized risk management professional body such as CMIRM, CRISC, CRMA, CBCI, PMI-RMP or equivalent.
  • Additional qualification in business analysis, process improvement (e.g. CIMA, Lean Six Sigma, TOGAF or equivalent) and insurance will be considered as an advantage
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience – preferably from professional services or publicly listed organisations with global foot print
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Visio
  • Strong track record in facilitating C-level interviews and workshops
  • Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions
  • Ability to manage the end-to-end process of management consulting engagements
  • Ability and willingness to delegate work tasks and coach junior team members
  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter, driven to succeed and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.  The individual will be insightful, decisive and a critical thinker. Furthermore, the individual will be able to work well on teams however will possess the knowledge and maturity to work on challenging tasks and communicate with client representatives independently.  Specific characteristics include:

    • Must have strong project management and technical risk management skills

  • Additional European language advantageous
