Through our Corporate Transformation practice, Alvarez & Marsal offers critical assistance to companies with underperforming assets which are a drain on earnings and cash flow, distracts management, and erodes employee, customer and shareholder confidence. We help clients identify and quantify opportunities to unlock shareholder value by divesting and/or improving under-performing and non-core business units or assets. Working directly with company management, A&M helps stabilise financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital improvements. A&M’s involvement reassures creditors that the company is taking important steps to address its problems and maximise its value.

Clients call us when they need to implement step-change, sustainable cost reductions that will leave their organizations leaner, stronger and more agile in order to compete in a disrupted environment and fuel future growth. In addition, specific events can trigger the need for an objective perspective of a company’s performance, such as missed earning projections, lacklustre topline growth, performance gaps versus competitors or the industry or, financial report restatements or investigations. Starting with a comprehensive, bottom-up assessment, we identify a portfolio of high impact opportunities to improve EBITDA and cash flow across the enterprise, ranging from quick wins to the ‘tough calls’ that deliver transformational results. In these instances, the services of our Corporate Transformation team include:

  • Bottom-up Assessment
  • Quantified EBITDA / Cash Improvements
  • Rapid Results / 100-Day Improvement Plan
  • Organizational Redesign and Management Architecture
  • Downsizing international business units and operations

We pride ourselves on listening to our clients, understanding their business and combining solutions and implementation to preserve and generate value for our client’s businesses.  Our goal is to improve cash flow and EBITDA and to provide earnings benefits through hands-on involvement in our clients’ operations and transactions.

Our CTS group has experienced unprecedented growth and therefore, an opportunity exists for us to strengthen the team at the Director level so as to provide resources and leverage to a growing and highly experienced Senior Management team. We are seeking a talented, ambitious, experienced and entrepreneurial transformation practitioner who is interested in developing their career in the much sought after rapid transformation space.

  • Robust understanding of accounting and business plan modelling

In addition, the successful candidate will also possess excellent negotiating skills, ideally gained in an operational restructuring environment, whether in the context of commercial / supplier agreements, closure of an entity/divestment of assets, negotiating with banks, or dealing with management teams or trade unions.
