Alvarez and Marsal’s dedicated Private Equity Performance Improvement professionals work with Investors and their portfolio companies to provide independent analysis and end to end services across the investment life cycle that deliver results in every economic cycle.

Whether serving in a performance improvement advisory capacity for an under-performing company or in interim management roles, we draw on a deep operational heritage and proven approaches, such as our proprietary diagnostic – the Rapid Results Program, which helps to quickly and effectively assess business process management risks and identify key areas impeding performance.

    Reason for the opportunity

    Against this backdrop of unprecedented growth, an opportunity exists for us to strengthen our performance improvement team at the Senior Director level, specifically focused on Carve out and Merger Integration  in order to contribute to a growing and highly experienced Senior Management team. The successful appointee will play a key part in both project delivery and continued business development.

    The ideal candidate will possess;

    • A minimum of 15 years in the programme management of Carve outs and/or Mergers / Integrations
    • Senior level Corporate leadership experience across one or more of; Finance, Operations,  Strategy, Transformation
    • A strong record of achievement in Professional services and previous experience working with private equity portfolio companies
    • Strong business exposure – working on engagements dealing with carve-outs, post- merger integrations and 100 day planning
    • In the case of Carve-outs, specifically Day-1 preparation, implementation planning and execution; planning or implementing relevant Transitional Service Agreements
    • Pre-acquisition due diligence , covering operations, IT and back office
    • Familiarity with methodologies and processes ideally with ERP or CRM platforms eg SAP / Oracle / Navision / MS Dynamics, etc
    • Proven skills cost reduction initiatives. This includes containing and reducing the Operational and Capital expenditure of the enterprise
    • Demonstrable  experience in out-sourcing and managing third party vendors from a commercial and technology perspective
    • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders including ‘C’ level executives, third-party vendors and advisors 
    • Experience of managing  teams across multiple locations in Europe, including third-party and in-house teams
    • Commercial exposure to SLAs and third party management; managing and negotiating third party vendor contracts
    • Experience of operating at CXO level, ideally with the associated line management and project management skill/experience

    Academics, qualifications and experience

    A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.  The preferred candidate will have a combination of advisory and corporate line management. Strong experience of either, however, will be considered.

    Fluency in one or more European languages is highly desirable as is a further degree (eg MBA) or professional qualification.
