Establishing a presence in Europe over ten years ago, the European business now has over 600 staff in a broad range of professional services including: Performance Improvement, Financial Institutions Advisory, Tax and Disputes and Investigation Services.

As a firm we are experiencing unprecedented growth and demand for our services and as a result we are expanding our high profile Data Analytics team with the recruitment of an experienced Director.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with all of our practice areas including Private Equity and Corporate Performance Improvement, Disputes & Investigations, Financial Services Advisory amongst others.  The Data Analytics team work across a wide range of different sectors and they have an international focus and culture.  The problems that they solve for our clients are complex and require analysis of large volumes of business data and management reporting.

The successful appointee will have deep knowledge and insight across Data Analytics, a blend of operational and commercial skills, an entrepreneurial approach and well developed networks. Entrenched in the challenges that face business today, the successful hire will be highly experienced and knowledgeable on big data analytics, social media, machine learning, data monetization and innovation.

The Director Data & Analytics will be responsible for contributing to the profile and reputation of the Firm, specifically in the Data Analytics function. They will reflect the operational distinctiveness that is A&M; a business savvy, solution focused business entrepreneur who is addicted to having an impact, determined to make a difference and not afraid to challenge the status-quo.

Typically, successful appointees into the Data Analytics team are action oriented self-starters with entrepreneurial flair. They are comfortable working independently in addition to working in high performing teams. They are hands-on and non-hierarchical operators who are equally effective in managing up and down and relate well at all levels and cultures.

Overview of the role

The successful candidate will be a high-energy individual and an innovator with in-depth knowledge of Data Analytics. They will have a track record of successfully delivering performance improvement programmes for clients or employers in this space.

Ideally, the successful candidate will also bring advisory experience, either from a top tier strategy firm, a leading specialist and/or niche firm or ‘Big 4’ consultancy. Candidates will have in depth knowledge in areas such as:

  • Understanding client problems and  leading the development of solutions  utilizing descriptive, predictive, prescriptive, cluster and geospatial analytics 
  • Creating measurable performance improvement for clients using data analysis, data visualisation and programming tools
  • Leading innovation on assignments across business intelligence, data integration, IoT and improved social media
  • Designing customer analytics including segmentation, customer acquisition and lifetime value management
  • Achieving performance/operational improvement through simulation, activity analysis and optimisation
  • Deep experience with database design, data warehouse principles and architecture, and data architecture principles and best practices

Specifically, the Director will have:

  • Clear determination to deliver the latest thinking in Data Analytics within a highly competitive advisory marketplace
  • Strong data modelling skills, both logical and physical, applying relational and dimensional approaches
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills when working with both business and technical teams
  • Strong business change agent with a reputation for transforming organisations to drive profit and growth
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders including ‘C’ level executives for the delivery of innovative agendas
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is essential. Fluency in one or more European languages is highly desirable, as is an MBA.
