IT Project Manager

First Consulting is a fast-growing, no-nonsense consultancy organisation,specialised in offering operational advice and management solutions for clients with large-scale (customer) processes (back office, customer care, asset management).

Business Technology consulting is a rapidly developing practice within First Consulting. We have propositions in the field of enterprise apps, reporting and data. The focus has been widened, in addition to the use of IT in consultancy projects, to the implementation of wide-ranging and scalable solutions. This includes internal and external multichannel web portals, CRM apps and workflow applications. We collaborate with leading technology partners such as Qliktech and Mendix.

As IT Project Manager, you are responsible for the daily management of business / IT projects with a special focus on the correct embedding of the changing business processes in an IT landscape.

Duties and responsibilities

• Translating client requirements relating to business processes into IT solutions;
• Drafting IT architectures for our clients, with a specific focus on the embedding of modern, innovative and future-orientated (cloud) IT solutions in an existing IT landscape (often concentrated around SAP, Oracle and Microsoft);
• Compiling a portfolio of innovative IT solutions in the market, specifically for companies in the energy, telecom and transport sectors, and the identification of new innovative solutions which could improve the business processes at these clients;
• Providing operational leadership to small and medium-sized project teams;
• Realising projects from initiation phase up to and including the transfer to the client organisation, within the agreed schedule and budget and in accordance with the agreed quality standards;
• Preparing and analysing reports on the delivered service provision;
• Managing escalations and optimising effective communication between First Consulting and the client;
• Building and maintaining a relevant network at the client, both at the business level and IT level;
• Managing the First Consulting IT consultants on the project and in their personal development.

Job requirements

• • Pre-university education (VWO) and a completed university degree in a technical, business or econometric degree programme;
• • A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as an IT consultant / IT architect in a project-based and client-orientated environment;
• • Demonstrable understanding of and experience with developments on the IT market (cloud, big data, mobile solution);
• • Demonstrable understanding of and experience with the embedding of modern (cloud) solutions in complex existing IT landscapes;
• • Down-to-earth, no–nonsense mentality; • Strong communication skills;
• • Explicitly decisive and result-orientated;
• • Analytical & creative;
• • Commercial: demonstrable experience in developing client relations;
• • Socially skilled team player;
• • Experience with SAP, Oracle and Microsoft business solutions is an advantage;
• • Experience in an asset-intensive sector (energy, telecom, transport) is an advantage;
• • Experience with model driven development (e.g. Mendix, Be Informed) is an advantage.
