IT Consultant

First Consulting is a fast-growing, no-nonsense consultancy organisation, specialised in offering operational advice and management solutions for clients with large-scale (customer) processes (back office, customer care, asset management).

Business Technology consulting is a rapidly-developing practice within First Consulting. We have propositions in the field of enterprise apps, reporting and data. The focus has been widened, in addition to the use of IT in consultancy projects, to the implementation of wide-ranging and scalable solutions. This includes internal and external multichannel web portals, CRM apps and workflow applications. We collaborate with leading technology partners such as Qliktech and Mendix.

Our IT consultants have both good technical skills and excellent communicative skills. These skills are required to be able to make the transition from business problem to technical solution. Our IT consultants often perform a double role as business and IT consultants. It makes working on projects varied and the added value of our IT consultant very tangible. Working in a project-based manner in teams with smart, young and ambitious people also promotes knowledge sharing and the speed with which our consultants develop.

Examples of the IT-problems you will be working on:

• Designing and improving front and back office processes and modelling in Mendix;
• Developing a self-service mobile app;
• Setting up process reports and KPI dashboards;
• Optimising and safeguarding client processes with workflow support.

Duties and responsibilities

• Translating client needs into IT-requirements;
• Translating IT-requirements into technical solutions and architecture (together with experienced team members);
• Modelling and developing web applications for desktop, tablet and phone;
• Unlocking data from different client systems for analysis and reporting;
• Building tools which manage and reflect the workflows in real-time for the client organisation

Job requirements

• Pre-university education (VWO) and a completed university degree in a technical, business or economic degree programme;
• Down to earth, no–nonsense mentality;
• Strong communication skills ;
• Explicitly decisive and result-orientated;
• Proactive, professional attitude;
• Able to understand the processes and systems of the client quickly ;
• Independent and methodical;
• Socially skilled team player;
• Demonstrable experience with analysis and IT on at least 1 of the elements below:
  • website development;
  • databases and SQL;
  • modern programming languages.
