For the shareholder of Samskip, we are looking for experienced talent in consultancy for Festir. As a real estate development company, Festir is preparing four individual projects: three in the capital area of Reykjavik and one in the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland. Our current plans cover approximately 20.000 m2 filled with 600 rooms and other facilities over the next five years. The projects range from hotels with a mix of houses, including various facilities such as natural pools or spas, to more exclusive apartments. We seek a talented expert who can expand our position as a leader in the developing industry of Iceland’s future tourism.

The position

As a Hospitality Management Consultant, you are able to manage your time yourself. Living in Iceland is a must, but you can split your working hours between our office and your home. You will be part of a team that is responsible for the development and management of several real estate projects, as well as projects for creative industries and art in Iceland. Examples include hotels, hotel apartments or bungalows, natural pools and/or spas, restaurants and catering services. As a permanent member of this team, your aim is to develop core competence for local operation, as well as arrange plots, invent concepts and strategies, and guarantee operation with long term success and growth in mind.

Some of your responsibilities include:

Developing retail buildings, entertainment facilities, dining spaces and hotels.
Developing interaction with the surroundings and conceptual work.
Planning area plots anywhere between minimal to full facilities.

You have good business acumen and are able to focus on key objectives, select an appropriate course of action, and set in motion a plan to get the job done. As a self-motivated strategic leader, you can play a pivotal role in the growth of Festir operations by using your entrepreneurial and motivational skills.

In addition, you:

Have academic credentials in consultancy;
Have a good mastery of the English language in both verbal and written forms;
Have at least 5 years of high level working experience in hospitality consultancy;
Have no objection to working and living in Iceland for the duration of your contract, at least three years.
