Role description
eCommerce Architects are responsible for the delivery of complex design solutions, enabling eCommerce transformation and integration with market leading packages for our clients. The successful candidates will have profound experience in solution architecture working between internal and external clients and teams to deliver a successful integration projects for eCRM, Ecommerce, Retail platform design. Proven and deep experience in this field is essential to secure one of these fantastic opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Educates the client and internal teams on the pros and cons of various design and implementation options, running platform selection processes and building business cases
- Transforms complex business requirements into candidate system architectures which also meet security and high availability requirements
- Designs system architectures, securing approval from internal and external stakeholders ensuring alignment with the overall solution architecture
- Leads teams in the design and build of internal, customer and prospect sites ensuring best practices in design, usability, SEO and UI are incorporated
- Liaises between client, management and suppliers gaining trust with clear and consistent communication
- Defines design and development standards adapted to the project context
- Initiates communication with members of other teams to ensure effective implementation
- Works in an advisory role to help our clients improve the productivity and quality of their own systems delivery functions
- To have a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture
Requirements
To qualify for the role you must have:
- Previous Architecture or Technical Team Lead experience on major E-Commerce transformation projects either at a Consultancy or End User/Retailer
- Has delivered at least one eCommerce solution, through to deployment and go-live, preferably in an agile development team
- Strong general knowledge of eCommerce, online retail and eCRM solutions
- Previous hands-on experience in the design and implementation of Java-based eCommerce platforms ideally ATG Commerce, Hybris
Experience of design & implementation of market leading packages in the following functional areas:
- Commerce (Oracle ATG, hybris, IBM WebSphere Commerce Server or similar)
- Knowledge of architecture methods and standards (e.g. UML, TOGAF)
- Knowledge of good practice around usability, maintainability and accessibility
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently as well in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- A good graduate degree (1st or Upper Second) combined with post-graduate experience in consulting or industry
- The right to live and work in the UK
Additional desirable experience includes:
- Ability to mentor junior team members
- Interest in developing the organisation, building and documenting processes, and evaluating tools and software
Experience of design & implementation of market leading packages in the following functional areas:
- Search & merchandising (Oracle Endeca, Fredhopper or similar)
- Content management (Adobe CQ, OpenText ECM, Oracle WebCenter or similar)
- Order management (IBM Sterling Order Management, Manhattan Order Lifecycle Management or similar)
- Product information management (hybris, Heiler, Stibo or similar)
- Digital asset management (Adobe CQ, OpentText Media Management, Oracle WebCenter or similar)
