Role description
Project Controllers are a niche team in Programme Leadership in the Human Capital service area within Deloitte's consulting business. The team is primarily involved in the financial management of multiple large and complex programmes. The team also undertake programme management office activities. We are looking for individuals who can quickly integrate with our team and adapt their skills, knowledge and experience to bear on and add value to our work in various industries and competencies. They have to be self-reliant whilst working in teams and be clear as to how they want their career to develop in Programme Leadership.
Responsibilities
Senior Project Controller will have responsibility for:
- Management of junior staff in terms of allocating workload, training, providing guidance and reviewing outputs
- Working with the Project management team to develop the project budget.
- Tracking actual fees and expenses against budget and forecast to complete.
- Generating client invoices and tracking debtors.
- Managing revenues and costs for internationally participating Deloitte offices and sub-contractors.
- Preparing programme financial reports as part of PMO role and undertaking financial modelling to prepare budgets and business cases
- Supporting the project manager with various programme management office responsibilities including status reporting, risk management, developing plans, subcontractor management, resource management etc.
Requirements
To qualify for the role you must have:
- Fully-qualified in an accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA )
- Ability to work in a pressured environment with ambitious and demanding individuals
- Core financial awareness including principals of reporting, consolidation, planning budgeting and forecasting
- Strong excel skills
- Experience of an accounting system (e.g. SAP) would be preferable
- Highly motivated, results driven and proactive self-starter
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and quantitative aptitude
- Ability to travel and stay away from home up to 5 days a week
