Role description
The Deloitte Supply Chain Practice is a market leading team providing pragmatic solutions to clients. As a Consultant within this practice, you will be exposed to the breadth of supply chain activities whilst also deepening your knowledge in Logistics and Distribution.
You'll work with a passionate and dedicated team of Logistics and Distribution experts who undoubtedly count as some of the top practitioners in their field. You'll receive structured training to help develop your technical and consulting skills. You'll broaden your skill set and develop quickly by gaining access to the highest levels of client liaison. You'll work on complex, high-profile projects across a range of clients within a range of industries and will play a key role in influencing account development and supporting sales activities in our target multinational accounts.
In fulfilling the role you will be expected to demonstrate skills and experience in some or all of the following:
- Operational Management of Logistics and Distribution operations
- Successful management of programmes and project teams
- Development of Logistics and Distribution vision and strategy
- Experience in delivering cost reduction project
- Delivery of commercial outsourcing engagements
- Experience in Network optimisation (inventory, warehousing and distribution)
- Delivery of process and operating model transformations
- Execution of technology improvement projects
- 3PL and 4PL freight optimisation programmes
Responsibilities
Consultant in the Logistics and Distribution team will be required to:
- Lead work-streams on projects
- Deliver tasks on time and within budget and in line with client expectations
- Deliver multiple pieces of work in parallel, both client facing and internal
- Support practice development
- Support development of the Deloitte business, brand and reputation
Requirements
To qualify for the role you must:
- Be able to build and sustain trusted internal and external relationships
- Be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with different audiences
- Have relevant practical experience in supply chain environment and logistics and distribution
- Be experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrate strong Excel, PowerPoint and report writing skills
- Be educated to degree level or equivalent
- Have knowledge of supply chain modelling and simulation tools
- This position will involve extensive travel, including overseas, therefore flexibility with travel is essential.
Additional desirable experience includes:
- Knowledge of the freight forwarding and supplier markets
- Experience in global logistics including ocean and air freight
- Experience of logistics and distributions warehouse and distribution technology
- Operational experience of delivering implementations
