Technology is an exciting and thriving competency within our Consulting practice. We have a diverse practice with around1700 practitioners working on challenging engagements across a wide portfolio of clients, and operating from many offices around the UK. Our breadth and depth of expertise enables us to work with FTSE 100 clients to help define, shape and successfully deliver some of their most complex technology projects. The quality of our technical skills is enhanced through our practical knowledge of implementation and our ability to team with each other. Our tools and methodologies add to the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of our work.
Deloitte has one of the world’s largest Financial Services practices and we provide advisory services to clients across the global banking, capital markets, Insurance and asset management sectors. We are looking to grow our Delivery teams within our rapidly growing Insurance sector and are recruiting specifically at our Consultant, Senior Consultant and Manager grades.

- Establishing technology as a key enabler of business strategy through the development of closely aligned and pragmatic IT strategic plans
- Programme portfolio planning and development of roadmaps for technology-enabled business transformation programmes
- Helping clients to obtain cost effective IT solutions for the business
- Helping IT organisations to achieve best in class performance, extending their existing delivery capabilities
- Shaping, building, integrating and deploying tailored technology projects for top flight clients
- Delivering specific technology solutions which address specific business needs and issues
Who we work with
The Technology Insurance team at Deloitte is supporting our clients as they face a number of key challenges, spanning core operations, risk and finance functions and digital transformation. We work with clients in all sectors to overcome these challenges, including General Insurance, London Markets, complex Global Risk Carriers and Life Insurance.
Responsibilities
Delivery is one of six core Service Areas in Technology, providing clients with the advice and delivery support that they need in their complex technology programmes. Whether it is structuring, assuring, managing, delivering or setting up solutions we need the very best people to join us and strengthen our team even further. That is where you come in!
Delivery provides a range of services to help our Insurance clients deliver business driven, technology-enabled change across their organisation. We help our Clients in many different ways
- Define, establish and run their most complex technology-enabled change programmes
- Manage their portfolios of technology projects and programmes
- Independently assure their in-flight projects and programmes
- Recover their troubled projects and programmes
- Define, establish and run projects to select technology products or services
- Advise them on building their in-house technology delivery capability
We work across all aspects of technology delivery including digital solutions, package integration, custom development and infrastructure.
Attributes
Candidates require a combination of management, consultancy, project delivery and technical skills.
You will be expected to demonstrate that you have experience of working with IT clients and helping to deliver projects and programs for them.
You will:
- Be a self-starter
- Have honed your delivery skills in an Insurance environment (GI, Life, London markets)
- Possess strong commercial awareness and business acumen
- Manage and deliver projects with teams of Deloitte, clients and contractor resources
- Manage project financials, for example client billing and cash collection
- Develop new and sell-on sales opportunities by promoting Deloitte propositions, capabilities and maintaining on-going client relationships
- Manage bids and the sales process through to signing of the engagement letter
- Have a proven record of building strong business relationships and partnering with others to reach successful outcomes
- Develop a personal contact network across Deloitte and in the marketplace
- Support the career development of others by acting as a counsellor to a group of Technology consulting staff
- Support the continued growth of the business through contributing to the wider development of the practice (e.g. supporting the development of propositions, training, marketing, communications and recruitment activities)
- Have a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture
