Role:
With a stretching growth target over the next 3 years, we are looking to expand our Infrastructure and Manufacturing teams with experienced, ambitious professionals who aspire to Partnership in a relatively short timeframe. We are looking to recruit 2-3 Managing Consultant/Principal level individuals with depth in Utilities, Engineering, Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain expertise.
These exciting Managing Consultant or Principal level roles will involve working on the pursuit and delivery of consulting services both in the Utilities sector (Energy and Water, Airports and Construction) and the Manufacturing & Engineering Services sector (Heavy and light engineering, hi-tech and general manufacturing), and providing subject matter expertise, capability development and intellectual capital. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting development of new business
- Designing and leading significant business change projects
- Providing thought leadership and maintaining industry knowledge and best practices in respective sectors, including currency in digital innovation and implementation
Skills and Experience:
We are looking for people with backgrounds in the above industry sectors with experience in sales and marketing, operating model, operations and supply chain management, asset management, transformational change management and customer growth and/or customer experience. You will be able to articulate the challenges facing your particular sector of expertise and demonstrate insight and successful delivery experience addressing some of those challenges.
You will have a good first degree and potentially an MBA from a top tier UK or US Business School. Applicants must have had 12 years business experience including a line management role in a FTSE top 250 and a role with a major international consultancy or recognised UK consulting firm. You will have experience of delivering results in challenging timescales, either with substantial financial benefits or demonstrable ground breaking change for an organisation.
Working in partnership with the client, you will have the acumen to identify where the potential opportunities lie and what the workable solutions are to then deliver. You will be comfortable working across the value chains of your areas of knowledge, and ideally will have experience in most of the following:
- Analysis leading to insight of your specific areas of knowledge and an ability to apply to other areas
- Specific tools and techniques including the ability to train others in your areas of expertise. i.e. Lean in Manufacturing
- Change Management within large / complex organisations
- Coaching managers and front line staff
- Track record and credibility of building strong board level client relationships
- Business case development / ROI including finance and cost reduction
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in English, both spoken and written is a must and a second European language advantageous but not essential.

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic consulting firm in a role that will challenge, develop and engage the right person and offer the opportunity to progress to Partner level subject to experience and impact in a 3-7 year time horizon. The role will require regular UK and European travel to work at client locations, including the possibility of some long haul excursions, therefore you will need to be comfortable with routinely living away from home mid-week.
