Description
This role is responsible for reviewing quantitative and qualitative analyses and research prepared by less experienced analysts, works on complex analyses, and drafts client presentations. With a good understanding of project management components and process, this role participates as an integral member of project teams. May serve as day-to-day client contact for data requests and manages smaller projects or portions of larger client assignments.
Additional responsibilities include:

Reviews financial and compensation data analyses prepared by analysts. Performs complex data analysis using advanced spreadsheet modeling and provides guidance to less experienced analysts while ensuring timely delivery of work.

Serves as a day-to-day client contact for data requests and data management. Participates in meetings with clients, including fact-finding interviews and presentations.

Develops and reviews client presentations and spreadsheet exhibits in presentations and initial conclusions prepared by analysts. Works closely with project managers and senior consultants to finalise the analysis and exhibits to be included in customised final client presentations.

Conducts research, uses databases, Mercer’s proprietary technology along with public filings to gather financial data, pay practices, policies and market trends.

Develops and reviews peer groups - lists of organisations against which the client organisation is compared (e.g., based on revenue, brand, industry, etc.) and/or are the client’s direct competitors.

Evaluates roles using Mercer’s IPE methodology and accesses appropriate data sources to benchmark compensation and benefit packages and to underpin grading structure and pay framework design.

Supports more senior colleagues in the delivery of reward strategy design projects.Whilst this role will primarily work across the Workforce Rewards segment there may also be opportunities to support consultants on other opportunities, including but not limited to; executive reward, organisation design, talent management and succession planning, M&A due diligence, human capital operations and technology opportunities, performance management design and competency development.
Qualifications

An undergraduate or postgraduate degree with experience in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, human resources (HR) and/or accounting

Relevant work experience in consulting, compensation, finance, human resources or accounting preferred

Some project management experience; experience in data analysis, financial modeling and presentation development

Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, and a strong background in Excel

Strong organisational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with very good attention to detail

Intellectual curiosity, seeking opportunities to develop new skills

Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work under tight deadlines or changing client needs

Business acumen and knowledge of financial concepts
