Position Summary:
The Regional WebCAS IT Product Lead will work with the Finance function, businesses, the global product owner and technical manager to define, implement and support system solutions for Mercer’s time recording and billing systems. It is their responsibility to ensure the systems are effectively managed by the product team, and properly utilized and operated by all client management professionals in the region. The Regional Product Lead will be one of three product leads representing Asia/Pacific, Europe and North America regions.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. People Management:

  • Supervise and monitor overall work load of direct report
  • Work with senior management in respect of team staffing

2. Process Management:

  • Change Management related to system enhancements, process changes, SOX/compliance rules
  • Communicate processes to application stakeholders
  • Understand SOX risks related to processes and ensure documented processes follow rules outlined by SOX
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of business processes
  • Utilise Change Control Log tools with regards quarterly build cycles
  • Communicate and coordinate system outage and month/quarter/year end related activities
  • Ensure processes are well documented and followed by team members
  • Peer review system documentation

3 Technical & Functional Work:

  • Work with the Global product ownership team to prioritise time entry and billing system initiatives globally
  • Work with the business/clients/global product owner to prepare business requirements relating to enhancement and change requests
  • Participate in review of functional specifications and enhancement requests and provide feedback to global product owner
  • Manage/coordinate user acceptance testing, participate in UAT and provide final sign-off for the region
  • Communicate best practices and application related process changes
  • Monitor usage of applications and recommend improved training opportunities
  • Perform system administration related activities
  • Manage quarterly production releases

4. Support:

  • Act as regional expert for WebCAS/myTime/Workflow Wizard functionality
  • Triage support issues and concerns; work with requestors and internal team to consider alternatives or solution options
  • Monitoring, escalating and resolving support queue issues, and communicate effectively and timely with requestors
  • Work with the market support teams to ensure they can adequately support the users in their market

5. Project Management:

  • Create project plans for business and application team milestones, dependencies and schedules
  • Provide input and assistance in projects. For example, acquisitions & expansions, or large change initiatives
  • Manage project assignments and communication with project manager on risks to meeting deadlines


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business or Finance


  • Five plus years of Experience as a Business, System or Technical Analyst. Accounting or Business Operations experience considered an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Self-starter with a proven ability to work with limited supervision
  • Comfortable supervising others
  • Excellent people skills as well as oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Project management experience is an asset
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and successfully submit deliverables
  • Ability to work as part of a distributed global product team.
