BSS Solution Architect

At BearingPoint, we are growing quickly and have a number of exciting new projects to challenge the very best Solution Architects. We are working with a wide range of clients, on a number of complex projects that are transforming the way business is being done in the UK. We are looking for a talented Solution Architect for a permanent role in our high performance ITST (IT Strategy & Transformation) team.

The Solution Architect will be responsible for the design and management of the end-to-end architecture of the solution and will be responsible for ensuring that all the components of the solution integrate together.

Responsibilities: 

• Detailed design of the end-to-end solution architecture
• Technically owning and managing the process of ensuring build and integration of the various elements of the solution
• Technical liaison for any vendors
• Quality assuring all contributors to the end-to-end solution
• Managing the integration of the various elements of the architecture with the assistance from the technical team leaders
• Act as a single point of contact on all technical issues for all of the technical team leads
• Provide technical leadership with senior client technical and business staff
• Review IT architectures and projects
• Improve business processes and technology innovation
• Research emerging technologies, processes and best practices
• Work on the development of client bids and presentations of proposals to secure new business

Essential skills/experience:

• Strong Telco skills (experience of working in Telcos fixed and/or mobile)
• Experienced in solution design based on industry best-practice frameworks such as eTOM and SID
• Experienced in architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF
• Knowledge of CRM & Billing Solutions
• Experience on state-of-the art web technology concepts and frameworks, such as REST and node.js
• Strong track record in delivery of complex solutions
• Experienced in architecture management within an agile project environment (SCRUM, Kanban, Lean)
• Ability to implement Architectural Governance
• Ability to write a Business Case and to deliver the an architecture aligned with the business case
• Examples of successful projects demonstrating responsibility as the architect
• Strong technical skills (background in technology)
• Exceptional problem solving skills and intellectual curiosity
• UML 2.0 skills and experience on modelling tools such as Enterprise Architect
• Experienced in using Open source technologies
• Integration and deployment of complex solutions
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• 3rd level degree in Computer Science (or related)
• Passion for innovation and creative problem solving and ablility to evangelise development teams
• Excellent influencing and interpersonal communication skills
• Fluent English
