The Pensions Development Lead job-holder is required to:

  • Support the Pensions Program Lead in the configuration and development, system/user testing of pension and related calculations and pension administration system application(s)
  • Modification and creation of pension’s administration functionality to fulfil agreed business and client requirements.
  • Develop quality technical, build and user documentation.
  • Support the Program Lead in the production of accurate estimates of work requests (enhancements, fix on fail and project)
  • Provide point of contact for Change Manager for Impact Assessment for project work
  • Have line management responsibilities for team members
  • Provide direction and supervision to team members
  • Provide input to the review of processes for service delivery improvement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution, Design and Build of Calculation Solutions
  • Testing of developments includes the identification of test records,
  • Test Plan build and control monitoring
  • Information Management – Provision of information dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
  • Documentation and training on new developments
  • Maintain and hold version control for audit purposes
  • Support to the implementation of Key system upgrades
  • Support of Process Re-engineering to achieve new improved processes
  • Create, control and update all documentation in accordance with Business Excellence
  • Supervisory responsibilities for team members

Skill sets required:

  • Initiative, resilience and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work within own team and co-operatively work with other teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pensions
  • Pensions qualifications and/or willingness to continue to progress
  • Project Management knowledge and expertise
  • Expert knowledge of core pension systems.
  • An advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications. MS Office, Visio and MS Project, SQL.
  • Significant experience working within the pensions industry.
  • A willingness to develop language and knowledge skills in the area of SQL, PL/SQL, PERL, VBA.
  • People Management responsibility
  • Escalate opportunities, ideas and suggestions for process improvement
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent but not essential
  • Demonstrable exposure to Pensions
